Draft Dahlin, sign JT and trade RoR for a treasure trove of assets...is that too much to ask for?!
- RhinoFan

getting dahlin would be a huge piece for this club (or any club for that matter)

No, that's your interpretation of what he said.

If he said verbatim "I quit on this team," then you have a point..

- BareMetal

If he didn’t quit on the team then what did he do ?

even as a quitter he still managed 61 points...I don't think he's the leader a.) he thinks he is or b.) the leader this team needs...

i'm to the point where i'd trade him, skunk and a first rounder (protected) for Tavares and sign him to a $12M aav for seven years...

Tavares has those qualities lacking in Buffalo

- Michael Pachla

Tavares has an NTC
Which means, he’s only agreeing to be traded to where he wants to go
So if it is here...
then why give up assets?
Just wait & sign him for free

Then u can trade O’Reilly or Sam for a defenseman

Reinhart scored more points than James Neal. That's fun.

How would you feel losing year after year and the team getting worse every year ? I'm sure it would effect you and you're playing along with attitude. Losing sucks for all the players and it gets old.
- SABRES 89

Agreed
Winning cures just about everything

Was Colorado lacking leadership last year,
and suddenly this year found it?

Yeah, this is the year to win it if we're going to. I'm thinking Vancouver wins it. But then again, I think the entire process is fixed too...

Dude we paid this primadonna big money he female doged about not being part of the core in Colorado and became a baby when he got passed over for the C

We gave him everything and now he lost his love for the game

Give me Break .

- gerbe75pts

Dude opens up and gives an honest answer about what it's like being on a awful, losing team on the national stage for so long and people jump down his throat about it.

Dude gives the same canned responses after losing hockey games about having to be better and people jump down his throat about it.

Maybe this community should just submit the answers he should be providing since he can't seem to do it on his own without getting lynched for it.

Logged tons of minutes, played in every key role of every game, played against all the opposing teams' top lines, won more faceoffs than any player in history, scored 61 points while doing it.

Yeah, guy didn't do sh!t.

What would make you happy, Gerbs?

I'm not in love with the guy, go ahead and trade him; but holy poop, the amount of hate this guy gets is baffling.

No. It's the constant "I've got to be better", "it's on me", burp, fart, blah, blah, blah.

I like the guy as a player. A bit slow, but he gets there, gets the job done, statistically speaking.

He's no leader. There's no accountability in that room. Guys have said it. J. Nolan said it. Scott Wilson said it. These guys have won Cups. O'Reilly has won nothing. Maybe there's a reason for that. There certainly was enough talent on those Colorado teams.

Whatever. If they can get the leadership problem fixed, maybe we'll have something here.

So was Landeskog a poor leader the last few years,
but now he’s a good one again?

I think ppl are way too focused on this “leadership” issue
It’s on of those things ppl just assume is lacking when a team is bad,
and don’t when a team is good

We don’t really know much about “the room”

When Stanley Cup winners Jordan Nolan and Scott Wilson call out the lack of leadership, peer pressure, etc, we know ENOUGH about the room.

The room sucks.

Duchene’s attitude wasn’t preventing the other players from scoring or playing defense

Idk... maybe O’Reilly does have a bad attitude?
But i think ppl on here are making assumptions without any actual knowledge on the situation
Giving candid answers doesn’t mean he’s a bad dude
I’m sure everyone in that room has been worn down to some degree by all the losing

How could that not affect you?

Filling holes with young talent is gonna do wonders for this team
Just like it did with Toronto
Just like it did for Colorado
Just like it did for New Jersey

While this is true, this Sabres team is a different breed in that regard.

This team is atrocious. At everything.

0 intensity. 0 excitement. 0 desperation.

I just can't bring myself to blame yet another head coach, or Johan Larsson for another last place finish.

There are problems

U mean the 4th liners that Championship teams didn’t want anymore are who we are taking our leadership cues from?

Come on man
What room doesn’t suck when you’re losing this much
It’s gonna take a toll on anyone

What does Jack say after games that’s so inspiring that it leads us to victory?

What could someone else come in and say to make our guys better passers?
Or shooters?
Or Lehner & Johnson make some saves?

With more talent, comes more winning
With more winning, comes better attitudes

Talent is the big issue here
And we’ve got some good young talent joining the roster in all areas

We've got Phil for another year, at least.

Wonder if his assistants are coming back.
