hes just one hell of a player, but its starting to seem like hes pulling them same stunts now that he did in Colorado at the end of his time there. (its never him, always the other guys around him that are dragging the team down)

Honestly believe his dad gives him the worst life coach advise

- DDM-Coga

I just heard his comments. I really don't think it was that bad. He played for a CRAP team. we are all fooling ourselves if all the players at one point this year did not mail it in..

He said he lost his passion at times

So he admitted the losing is taking a toll. People were mad because they thought he didn't care about losing, then he says he does care and people flip out again

- jcragcrumple

Wait, lising your passion means you stop caring. That's different than lising bothering you.

Stop trying, it's not going to work.

I feel compelled to stick up for the guy. We'll see what happens.

He scored in the last 5 minutes of the last meaningless game.

I take the quote as meaning that year wasn't fun. He still did his job, but the fun wasn't there.

You're right on that. I'd want to try something different than in my approach, when teams around me are bad it leads to conflict amongst individuals, we start arguing to push each other or solve problems. Wouldn't mind hearing some dust UPS in practice over effort from the previous game(s).
- gcomella34

Eichel acts like a baby, and his antics are getting old in the locker room and on the ice and 90% of that is due to LOSING, I was told HOWEVER, there is another side to that story. These guys want to win but the guidance isn't there, Housley is trying but it seems the losing and how the team is losing is keeping them from focusing. This has to stop and stop quick, once Botterill has set this team up and start it right direction, it's time for these players or new players to focus and move forward.

have to disagree...he averages over 30 goals (never scoring less than 24) and 38 assists per season, and is a helluva leader
- Michael Pachla

He's really, really good. But he had to work very hard to get his skating to average. The wheels are gonna come off hard in his early 30s imho

saying he didnt love the game at times doesnt sound great when you have 7.5m tied up in him for multiple seasons.

I dunno I wouldnt want him to "not love" doing something that he is paid very well to do

"working real hard" is a trait this team could use in mass quantities

Interesting. Understand I'm not in the camp saying pin the C on Eichel. If there isn't a captain on the team you move forward without one. But at some point, certain players have to fall in line with management and push that agenda to the passengers on the team.

Problem is, I don't think we have that guy yet, I feel ROR SHOULD be that guy. Its not important that he buys is, but that he gets others to. If he does, I'll happily admit I was wrong.

I don't care what coach runs this group of players. There just is not that much talent on this team.

The media disagrees with the "baby" antics. A lot of them are coming around on him for being this teams leader.

I dont blame him for being frustrated...but this is like Duchene last year. Teams a dumpster fire and you quit on the team. Fight through it and try to be the solution instead of "not love hockey at times"

I dunno just was curious bc he played this same act in colorado too.

It's a very subtle schadenfreude troll that you're doing, which I get, but he didn't quit. Scored right before the final buzzer

Im not trolling, and I didnt say he quit, I said Duchene quit like last year.
ROR "lost the love of the game" which is a strange thing to say and it opens up to interpenetration

If he acted like the leader he was reported to be, that'd be a +1.
