I know he was. I don't know if he still is.

Stolarz is apparently injured with something other than the knee. Not sure how serious (doesn't sound like it is) but with 4 goalies I doubt he is being pushed to come back. Lyon hasn't played that much either since being forced to backup in the NHL.

- YuenglingJagr

Possibly from wind burn as he gave up a 6 spot in his first start back this year.

The Blues lead the league in both shooting % and save % in shootouts. They actually did not allow a shootout goal against all season.

Flyers had a somewhat average save % (.649 compared to avg .690), it was their 18% shooting percentage that killed them

I think I would be mad if Hall got it over Giroux when it comes down to it.
- arichardson22

I won't be shocked if he's not top 3 personally. There just hasn't been much of a narrative in the media about him. Kopitar mackinnon and hall probabaly although I don't agree with it

Just posted on the last thread, so I brought it over here:

First round picks, FWIW:

WEST
Nashville in 5 over the Avs. Kudos to the Avs for their great bounce back season, but this is where it will end. The Preds are just a significantly better and deeper team.

Vegas in 7 over LA. I think every home team wins in this series and every game is going to be close. This is one I'm really looking forward to.

Anaheim over San Jose in 7. Anaheim, IMO, is a better team than their record and had to fight through a lot of man games lost to injury this season. This will be another close, hard fought series between 2 teams that don't like each other and you gotta love that. This was the hardest series for me to make a pick in the West and San Jose winning wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Winnipeg over Minnesota in 6. The Jets are the better team and the better team is going to win, it's that simple.

EAST
Tampa over Jersey in 6. Keith Kincaid has been amazing for the Devils, but at some point he is going to come back to earth at least a bit. Tampa is just deeper and better at every position and while the Devils will give it a good effort, they aren't winning this series.

Washington over Columbus in 7. Ovi is on a mission and the Caps are going to find a way to win this series no matter who ends up in goal. It will be close, but no cigar, for Torts and his boys.

Toronto over Boston in 7. Boston just hasn't looked right the last couple weeks of the season and I think some late injuries are catching up with some of their players, especially the veterans. Toronto has a speed advantage and will use it to wear the B's down. Winning game 7 in Boston should be especially sweet for the Leafs and their fans.

And, the one you're all waiting for....
Penguins over the Flyers in 7. Sorry, I don't like it, but that is how I see it. Giroux will do everything humanly possible to pull off the upset, but they will fall just a bit short. OTOH, it will be a great experience for the youth on the Flyers and they are only going to get better over the next few seasons.

Picks:

Nashville over Aves......4 -0
LA over Vegas .....4-2
Ana over SJ 4-3
WPG over Minn 4-0
TB over NJ 4-1
CLB over Wash in 4-2
Boston over TO 4-3
PHILLY in 7 over Pitt.....4-3

I think the Flyers can definitely take this series and will....I have a feeling guys like Simmonds and Gudas are going to be a physical focal point in this series. I think there will be some upsets....anyways I guess we will see

If the Flyers can keep the games 5x5 and get solid goaltending it can be a long series.
If it's a special teams series they will get cut to ribbons. Obviously not rocket science.

I don't see anyone bringing up the fact the Penguins have played 44 games more than the Flyers the last two seasons counting their playoff runs. That's more than half an NHL season. That has to take a toll on them.

I just am baffled. I’m not trying to be biased but just looking at stats.. Has Best +\- out of anyone in top 20 points, has more points than everyone but McDavid, career highs, leads in assists, top face off guy, embraced a position change. MacKinnon I get it if he wins; I think it should be bewteen him and G. Having said that, Mack had a slow finish meanwhile Claude penciled our team in post season with a ridiculous end to the season. But you can’t take away from Mack elevating Avs from bottom dweller to playoffs.

I think we'll be world beaters just to reach 6 games. I think the calls will favor the Penguins is such a ridiculous way, you'll wanna put a bullet through the tv.

Playoffs might be ok for Gudas, the refs will let them play a little. As long as Gudas is smart on how he crushes people, it could be a good series for him. I hope we see Hagg, I think he is stronger on the puck than Manning.

The wear and tear factor, the fact that Murray has struggled and the fact that the Flyers have played them well at ES give them a good shot. I still think the combo of the Pens seeming to always get calls and the advantage they have on special teams will give them a win in 7. However, I do think they run out of gas in the 2nd round and lose to the Caps.

It's total B.S. if the finalists aren't G, Hall and MacKinnon. I could see any of them winning it though.

Nashville over Colorado 4-1
LA over Vegas 4-3
Ana over SJ 4-3
WPG over Minn 4-2
TB over NJ 4-3
CLB over Wash in 4-3
Toronto over Boston 4-2
Philadelphia over Pitt 4-2

I think Konecny comes up with some clutch plays like Hornquist has for the Pens in the past. Murray hasn't been himself and like someone else alluded to there is no Fluery to bail them out if needed.

I think you'll see a coming out party for Provorov on the national stage. Giroux will outplay Crosby. The Patrick line will be HUGE this series because they will likely match the line that doesn't go against the Couturier line.

I think we're gonna get physically out matched. Someone brought up wanting Hakstol to get these guys throwing hits around. If you have to ask for this, in my mind, it's a problem.

This is the direction of the team I don't like. The new identity being built. I don't agree with it.

This regular season couldn’t have gone better. Couldn’t have asked for a better season than 98 Pts. Couldn’t have asked for a better St. Louis pick than #14 overall.

The Rest is gravy, going to enjoy watching the kids in this series

If the Flyers make this a 7 game series, that is about all you can ask. I think their lack of depth will hurt them. There are no Lehtera's, Reads in the Pens lineup. Penguins do give up a lot of scoring chances up 5x5 so there is some hope. Stay out of the damn box.
