Roenick OT winner vs TO for me. The most exciting 2 minutes in sports history leading up to that goal.

Sami (frank)ing Kapanen!! That was an awesome moment. I also remember my yell of victory waking up my wife, the dog and probably most of my neighbors when Primeau scored in the 5th OT in 2000.

another one right up there. some great memories with that club in 04...my second favorite team since the mid 80s crew.
he was a bit up and down, but the team struggled with him. he's capable of playing well enough to win a series and has the experience. bottom line, he's their best option, and they can help him and themselves if they stay out of the box. - hammarby31
He wasn't lights out, but if I look back, there were many games he made tons of big momentum saves that helped us stay in games or win. The team struggled for large stretches and without him, there would have been disastrous blowouts. I hope he got enough work to get somewhere near back to this level. We'll need him

Remember both games like they were yesterday. The roenick one was so huge. All leafs habs and Bruins fans around my neck of the woods and I loved crushing the leafs fans dreams.

you don't need the goalie to win a series by himself unless it's a complete miss match. he can do that. the pk and clean outs are crucial. just as much as the goaltending.

Incredible? Well no, not at all, but he was pretty consistent night in and night out which was usually good enough to give the team a chance to win most nights. - BiggE

I don’t think he was forbidden to fight this season, I think whatever injury he’s likely been playing through all season is what kept him from playing as physically as he had in past seasons. - BiggE
I just wish the rest of the team were either a Giroux or a healthy Simmonds.
I have been watching different NHL shows about the playoffs on TV. When they talk about the Flyers-Pens series, nobody gives the Flyers a chance to win this series. I'll still keep the faith, but I know it will be a tough series to win. The Flyers have to stay out of the box and our PP must score on it's opportunities. Hopefully Gudas and Manning play better than they did in the regular season? Too many turnovers/icings. I expect Ghost and Provorov to play a lot of minutes. I would like to see Hagg get some ice time. Hopefully the Flyers score first? They obviously play better with a lead, as most teams do. Chasing the Pens is a recipe for disaster. Elliot has be strong in net and not give up any soft goals that take the wind out of the team. I also think the Flyers should hit the Pens as often as possible. It seems like the Pens hate to be hit and get off their game when it happens.
Fingers crossed for the Flyers and somebody Please hit Cindy Crosby.

Sami Kapanen is forever one of my favorite Flyers.
To play the blue line like he did during the Stanley Cup playoffs? And it wasn't like they asked some 4th line forward to do that....Sami was a pretty accomplished forward in the best hockey league in the world.
I forget who it was (might have been Bill, actually), but somewhere, I read that Sami was able to do that, because when he was coming up through Finnish hockey, they made players play multiple positions to learn the responsibilities of everyone on the ice. I may be misremembering that, but I thought that was (frank)ing hardcore.

I don't know what it is with Elliot, but the team looks comfortable playing in front of him, regardless of how Elliot is playing. They seem to like playing in front of him and I think that counts for something.
When Elliot is on, the team looks fantastic, and maybe, that's why Hakstol rode him so hard before he got hurt.
