I think if Konecny does it there will be more effort to retaliate. He will be a little lightening rod out there. Big reason why i think he could be an x factor. - J35Bacher
again, i just don't see hims as the pat verbeek type. i don't mind if he engages that way, but do it with smarts. don't end up on the pk, and don't get hurt.

Yeah, I really don’t see Verbeek in him either. He reminds me more of Briere with a just a small pinch of Kenny Linseman in there somewhere

It's just more of analysis from afar with out any real insight into the team. Flyers aren't that kind of team and although he doesn't have great numbers and has had some clunker games, Elliott has been better than mediocre. - MJL
i agree. elliott has been better than mediocre. cullen is a clown.
no doubt. i wasn't in the building for those...but the daigneault goal: jfc. i lost my mind. i can't watch it without tearing up. - hammarby31
It was so loud after that goal, my dad tried to say something to me right after and I couldnt hear a word. I really thought the roof was going to come off the joint again, it was just unreal.
i don't need fisticuffs or chippy play to enjoy this or for them to win. that's not who they are. i want focus and urgency. - hammarby31
Yup, they can’t afford the penalties that kind of game will inevitably lead to. Play hard, but play disciplined. Let the Pens retaliate and make them play on the pp.
All in all just play your game and hope Elliott can get back to mid season form. Strong goaltending and keeping the game 5 on 5 is what will give them the best chance to win.

Feel pretty safe in saying that this isn't THAT kind of Flyers team.
They are in the bottom 3rd in the league, with respect to taking penalties and they have 1 fewer fight this year than the Nashville Predators. - johndewar
Which to me, sucks!
Wayne Simmonds for example. I feel he's at hi best when he's allowed to drop the gloves.

See, at no point this season have I felt Elliot was that incredible before his injury. I felt like he was trusted enough to be our starter. I felt like he was better than Neuvirth. That's pretty much it for me. We had an uneven start to the season and a ten game winless streak later on.

I don’t think he was forbidden to fight this season, I think whatever injury he’s likely been playing through all season is what kept him from playing as physically as he had in past seasons.

yep. i just don't want this to be an ugly/maddening series...which often go together, but not always.

Incredible? Well no, not at all, but he was pretty consistent night in and night out which was usually good enough to give the team a chance to win most nights.

he was a bit up and down, but the team struggled with him. he's capable of playing well enough to win a series and has the experience. bottom line, he's their best option, and they can help him and themselves if they stay out of the box.
