There's a few things here I would normally argue, but my passion to argue about which bottom pair/ahl dman sucks the least is dying.
- Nucker101

I forgot Del Zotto he would be between Gudbranson and Tanev.

And we all have our opinions about bottom pairing dmen, and I know you love Hutton, but Stecher and him cost more odd man rushes against then all other dmen combined. (Official Stat curtesy of Makita eye test)

What about taking on Speeza’s contract at 7.5 million for one year for Dallas 1st round pick providing it’s not top five.

Might help the take a run at a UFA they have on radar?

I don't love Hutton lol, I just think Green and the fans have a bias against him because his mistakes are more glaring than the other scrubs and he's a goof off the ice. But he makes more good plays than most of the other scrubs.

There is something about Hutton that Green obviously hates. He is entitled to have his favourites and players he wants traded. All coaches do. I agree as I hate Hutton but I understand why some want him to have a longer leash. As fans we don’t see everything that goes on behind the scenes

The rumor behind the disgruntled Green is that Hutton is enjoying the fruits of his contract. He is also enjoying the pizza beer and McD, Coach Green has called out Pudge publicly saying he needs to get in better NHL shape

He is a fat Virtanen. He isn’t skilled enough to have such a sh!tty work ethic. And then you throw in the boneheaded turnovers 😡

Pouliot was ripped for the same poop in Pitt and he still looks a little chubby here in Van.

I’m fine with trading Hutton, but the bias from the coach annoys me

Agree Pouliot is chubby but how do you know what goes on behind the scenes? Maybe Pouliot works his ass off at practise and Hutton doesn’t listen and (frank)s up drills all the time. I don’t know but perhaps his bias is justified. Or perhaps he is a d!ck and doesn’t like Hutton because of his annoying grin. No idea

Been told Troy Stecher is on a long list to play for Canada at the world hockey championships. No call yet for Stecher

For sure, I honestly hope there is something and it’s not straight up bias

For sure - I would hope Green doesn’t favor someone just because of his junior days. I dont think he does but I have no idea. I do recall Pouliot saying that it was good and bad because he is extra hard on him....or something to that effect

Logjam on D & something must give.
Idk who but Stecher & Hutton 1 must go this offseason or later. Pouliot i can live with & Sautner showed well making D more expendable.

I remember seeing something that said Hutton didnt put the work in off the ice. Did the bare minimum when it came to video sessions, off ice workouts, etc.

I expect the bias is just who Green thinks he can work with. Its easy to forget that the coach is also being evaluated and if he isnt getting through to someone, he needs to still show his current and future employers that he can develop players. To me, Hutton always seemed a bit thickheaded, so I get it

My take with TG on Hutton is he is too aloof for TG’s mentality & only much more offense would change his mind. Hutton has to be a better pro or days are numbered.

Virtanen situation 2.0; except its tougher to get through when the kid is still making $2.8 million as opposed to the paycut from $900k down to $70k JV also had to deal with

Pretty much all true lol

JV gets a raise to max 1.5m
Hutton a shave if not traded my guess.

I see way more potential in Pouliot. Not sure why fans are so down on him. Its easy to find cracks when you see him every night. I think he'll be a good #3 guy for the Canucks with more confidence...

JV I'd want to keep the term short, give him another show-me year to bring what he showed at the end of the year consistently next season. Agree $1.5 would be the max

Hutton's got another year on his deal and, to me, he seems like a damned if you do, damned if you dont kind of situation. Keep him, and I dont think he grows much and isnt worth qualifying, or you trade him and he gets a fresh start/wake up call and he probably flourishes in the contract year.

haven't read through al the pages so forgive me if others have mentioned this, but sorry Carol, I need to point out to you that there still is a former Canuck of 1999 draft pedigree still plying his trade in the NHL.

Leipsic did nothing as a 4th liner in Vegas. Comes here gets an extra 5 minutes a game. Doubles his production rate. You want to put him back down as a 4th liner again?
