1st round is the best round. These next few days are going to be looooooong.

This is my favorite week in all of sports.
My wife would be happy if the Pens lost in the first round since Ive been unavailable in the evenings for 3 to 4 days a week the past two years in April, May and part of June.

The Flyers and their fan base are with your wife this year. For your marriage's sake, you must sabotage the Penguins ASAP. Maybe a lead pipe to Malkin and Crosby's knees?

NJ has some good players, and yes, TB has looked more vulnerable recently. That said, Taylor Hall put the Devils on his back the last month of the season, and their depth can't match up with Tampa Bay's. They'll need a lot of breaks to go their way to win.
- jmatchett383

Agree, they have some good players, but Hall is the only real star, maybe Schneider. Nico and Butcher may get there but not yet. Real impressive year by Hall with such a massive gap between him and their next scorer to get them in the playoffs.

It doesn't help that she is a Flyers fan albeit a very casual one.

Sounds like we live in reverse, although my wife is more than a casual Pens fan.

Is Schneider even going to be their starting goalie heading into the playoffs? Kinkaid has had a better season.

Schneider has been awful for them this year. His last 5 GP he has 5 losses and a sub 900 S% in all of the games.

Way to screw my life Bruins...

I figured I was safe.. Florida is already out of it as the Flyers won on Saturday, so they have nothing to play for. Boston still has a chance at clinching home ice advantage for the entire Eastern Conference playoffs as the 1 seed. Boston is a much better team than Florida.

Annnnnd.. they lose, which means Game 2 of Pens/Flyers will be Friday night. Had Boston won, game 2 would be Saturday night.

Guess who committed to a date night at the movies on Friday?

Those are the best imo. Sets you up for a nice 3,7, and 10oclock triple header.

lol me too. I was on my honeymoon in Maui with a 6 hour time difference. I kept leaving the beach to go back to the "bathroom" for long periods of time. She figured it out eventually.
I thought I was married in 2008. I should probably figure that out before my anniversary.

You should prove to us all your real man charm, and convince this date that good seats at the outdoor Penguins viewing party is a movie, theater, and a Colosseum wrapped in one. It will be a divine viewing for the masses, a battle of pain and art on ice...

Thats about all I got... just man up and take her to the hockey game.

I’m pretty confident at some point in this series Crosby is going to loose his poop. Hornqvist will attract a lot of attention away from Malkin with his face wash culture and I don’t worry about Malkin as he seems to feed off of the scrums. No Kunitz to detract Crosby from the scrums worries me, he seems to react differently than Geno. With the series turning real messy I think Pens in six.

If I was a Pens fan, Crosby would be the least of my worries.

I always thought Sid was better at playing through the physical stuff than Malkin. It could just be against the Flyers and he's probably become much better in this regard but I remember Couturier driving him nuts to the point of taking needless penalties. I could be wrong but isn't Sid the guy that feeds off of it?

Hahaha Guille I appreciate the advise and that sounds like a dream date. Unfortunately I doubt that I will be spending thousands getting to Pittsburgh. I live in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia (And yes I was a Pens fan long before Crosby even played hockey, but boy was I happy when I found out where he got drafted).

That being said, I'm sure I can arrange for a sports bar with TV's instead of some uppity eatery!

It's just brutal because she asked if I wanted to go out on Friday or Saturday, so I immediately checked on the playoff schedule and it said Pens play Friday if Florida wins, Saturday if Boston wins. I would have likely went with Florida to win that game, but when the Flyers ruined their hopes I was sure the Bruins were a safe pick!
