The more I read, the more I want desperately for the Bills to maneuver to the spot where they can select Baker Mayfield...no new news there, lol.

NTD Scouting does a nice job of evaluating the QB’ s.

For me, I still prefer as follows:
Mayfield
Rosen

Darnold
Jackson

Rudolf

Allen

McNabb would’ve been traded still for Fasching, bc Murray is an idiot

So, as far as the defense goes...
Myers & Zadorov > Bogo & Scandella
I’ll give u that
But that defense still would need work imo, and it also means we probably have almost no chance at Dahlin this season

Dahlin >>>>>>>>> Myers + Zads
So we’ll have to see how the lotto goes to really be able to say if we’d be better off or not

As far as the forwards go...
Compher isn’t a 2nd liner, not currently anyways
Doesn’t look like he’ll be much of a scorer,
so I’d say he’s got a 3rd line ceiling
Armia & Lemieux also looks ok like they top out as 3rd liners, although Lemieux could reach a little higher depending on if he can score at this level

But as of right NOW...
O’Reilly >>>>> Compher, Armia & Lemieux
And we have plenty of “3rd liners” coming
(Bailey, Baptiste, Smith, E Rod, etc)

So basically
if we get Dahlin, this current group is better than if we never made those trades...
for right NOW
Obviously would depend on how all those draft picks would/wouldn’t work out over the next several seasons

- jdfitz77

You’re forgetting

The ability to get 2 of the back end of the 2015 draft which includes Boeser, Konecny, Beauvillier, Roslovic, White etc, and more than likely a way better player than Alex Nylander right now.

It saddens me how right I was about Murray ruining this rebuild

And that’s it for the Panthers

Great. At least the rest of you don't need to be constantly exposed to and reminded of the unbelievable success of the other sports teams in the city you're living in that you aren't a fan of. Out in the cold as per usual. Philly is becoming the new City of Champions. Unfortunately the 3ER can't change his feathers. FML

That pretty much sums it up.

But looking at Rochester and our system, i see us being lightest on defense still

- Boss34

If we miss on Dahlin,
I see our “future” defense looking something like this:

Guhle-Ristolainen
Scandella-Borgen
McCabe-Nelson
Antipin?

Besides Borgen,
we have Fitzgerald & Laaksonen who MIGHT develop into something in the next few years

So to improve the above defense,
we are likely looking at trades & FA

Getting Dahlin changes the look of that defense A LOT though
So hopefully we can get lucky for once

I didn’t forget that...
it’s just tough to say what would’ve happened with those picks
Maybe they’d have become something,
maybe not

If Murray’s defensemen acquisitions worked, i think we’d be in the playoffs by now
The problem was that every single move he made on defense was an utter disaster

So yeah...
bc of that, the “quick” rebuild he tried to do was a total failure

Huh?

The Phillies are terrible

Flyers just barely made the playoffs...
they aren’t Cup Contenders

Sixers are good, but i don’t think anyone sees them as potential “champs”

So yeah,
The Eagles are very good
But no one besides them is winning a Championship...
not anytime soon anyways

Doesn't seem like it saddens you. You remind everyone in every thread. More than the list of prognostications the 3ER hit on. And that list is long and distinguished, like my Johnson.

If we weren’t the lowest scoring team I’d agree. But we are.

The forwards are a mess too

I wouldn’t even pick Allen at 22
Jackson also scares me with his bust potential
Darnold needs to fix his throwing motion

Rosen/Mayfield if we move up
Or
Stand pat & take Rudolph

A defense that can move the puck up the ice helps the offense quite a bit
But i see your point

Let’s just say we’d be significantly better if Murray didn’t fail so horribly with the defense

Careful.

You're forgetting Nova. There's been 3 parades down Broad Street in the last 3 years. 4 in the last 10. That's about as good as it gets.

I'll never fault Murray for the Vesey trade. That was a good idea. The DLo/Fasching trade was obviously horrible, but the Jets trade was almost as bad in retrospect.

I still think the ROR trade was worth it, but we obviously have no success to show for it

True... i did leave out Villanova
They aren’t going anywhere,
but it is hard to keep winning NCAA hoops championships

Picking them was about the only thing i got right in my bracket

As far as the Flyers go...
for the foreseeable future, to even get to the Cup, they would need to beat:
1st round- Pitt / Wash
2nd round- Pitt /Wash
3rd round- Tampa / Boston

Maybe once they get Carter Hart up playing for them... IF he’s crazy good right away
But that road just to get to the Cup looks as rough as it gets
I just don’t see it happening

Pretty much agree

I’d have resigned Kane, in which case that Jets trade wouldn’t be so bad...
but the way it played out,
I gotta agree it was a total bust

I really wouldn't want Myers back, and I had no special affinity for Kane, nor Lemieux, nor Armia, but the Bogo contract is just horrendous.

Boston is still tops though
All 4 of their sports teams are legit contenders
And 3 really good NCAA hockey programs

Can't argue with that. Pittsburgh has done all right for themselves too. Some day the ship is going to come in.

2 years left for Bogo?
If he would’ve worked out, this team would’ve looked a lot different the last couple years

I liked him as a player
But he’s been so up & down
And that’s when he’s been on the ice
Even if he was good, he’s been hurt so much that the impact would’ve been minimal

You're forgetting that if Murray was so bad what makes you think he'd have drafted any of those guys? I really don't get your fascination with Roslovic, he's not a very good player, certainly not "way better than Nylander", and the "right now" bit is irrelevant because all those players were drafted a year ahead of Alex.
