Boston wins out and Tampa wins out, doesn’t Boston own the tie breaker
- wcorvette

isn't the first tie breaker ROW? if that is the case Tampa has them 48-46

Just saw the news report on that a few minutes ago. What a terrible tragedy.

Though the Flyers game should be first and foremost on all of our minds today, it's all put into perspective after you read about the awful tragedy to the Humboldt Broncos hockey team.

We've all experienced personally and as being fans of the Flyers how fragile a life can be and how quickly it can be taken away.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the players who lost their lives this early morning.

I am not afraid of the Penguins. Look at their 5-on-5 GA and notice that they are 27th in NHL. None of the four teams below them are in the playoffs. Six of the seven teams immediately above them (except FLA, who can be eliminated today if Flyers take care of business) are not in the playoffs, either. While I don't particularly think the Flyers are the right team to beat them in a playoff series , I think someone will expose thin blueline depth and so-so goaltending.

Flyers just haven't seemed to match up well with them. its funny, I look at the Penguins and beyond Crosby, Malkin and Kessel I think they aren't all that strong but they just win. I don't see them winning again but I also said that last year

Tampa Bay has been giving up a poopton of goals lately - they could be in trouble against a patient team.

And Washington is Washington.

tampa really has been leaking goals lately.

I see Pittsburgh being a nightmare for this club. The 3rd line of the Flyers is truly a weak point that would be exposed. Too much firepower up front on the Pens.

I prefer Boston and Washington over Tampa/Pittsburgh any day.

Flyers don’t have the goaltending nor depth on D to be a club that can play D-first (think Montreal beating Wash/Pitts with Halak) and expect to win.

Just win today, make the playoffs, get that experience for the kids.

And who knows, if a Flyers goalie can get hot, and they stay out of the penalty box, they could win a series or two.

I’m off to work, will watch on tape delay, so won’t be checking in here till tonight

Have a great day hooligans.

Hakstol has moved Konecny to the 3rd line to try and give the Flyers more scoring pop through the lineup.

First off, thoughts and prayers out to the players, coaches, family, and friends of Humboldt. Absolutely devastating.

As for the Flyers, the mission is simple: 60 minute effort against an inferior team, secure your playoff spot. Do not play for just one point or you risk getting zero. Get...it...done!

Not much basis for that statement. The 3rd line was much improved as Konecny created scoring chances and attack time for that line and the top line still scored 2 goals without Konecny on it. One game sample but so far so good. It's a shame your bias for Hakstol does not allow for even a shred of objectivity.

I would like nothing more than to see a Flyer blowout today, but a part of me would also love to see a one game playoff against Fla for the last spot. I love do or die situations in sports. Nothing opens up your capillaries like a 7th game in hockey, except OT in a 7th game.

another positive is the Flyers have around 1.2 million in cap space so any bonuses achieved this year shouldn't have to be carried over to next season.

Cause he spent the beginning of the season on the third line and gets less closing out games, but hey stats!
