I am cautiously optimistic you are right, Jimmy. I am hoping that it's a scenario like Vukota described where they want to offer the GM position to someone who works for a team that's in the playoffs. So they don't want to announce Snow is getting canned (preferable) or kicked upstairs (less preferable), until they have his replacement lined up.
Yeah, I know there's no tooth fairy..... - JohnScammo
They can still fire him and say "We are proceeding with interviewing people for the GM position. However as there are a few candidates that are in the playoffs and we won't be able to interview them until afterwards." What's hard about that?
Edit - The positive side to what I just said is that you get that toe-licking ass-jockey out of the way before he does any more damage, the billboards come down and you can ride the train again with mostly happy fans. |

I respectfully disagree. I don't think they have a clue what they're doing. I think they're going to ask other owners what they would do. Jesus P. Christ, grow a pair. All you need to do is look at the facts. The facts are Snow has never taken this team past the 2nd round. He's never addressed all the team needs. He doesn't make the moves needed. He makes completely unnecessary moves. He manages with his ego, not for what's best for the team. He's got to go!. But these 2 gutless pukes are going to keep him. Fucking insane. - Isleshockeyman
We'll have to wait and see. I agree that canning Snow yesterday would have been the smart move. However they didn't endorse him so there is hope.
The situation Vukota laid out is a possibility. Maybe there is something happening with JT's contract and they don't want turmoil right now. Who knows. |

Presumably the GM has duties that need to be performed in the next few months. Who performs those during the playoffs and while L & M are conducting interviews after the playoffs are finished? |

Lou's kid. He can step in as interim. |

Everything with this team moves glacially slow. From Snow filling holes in the roster, to Tavares making a decision, to ownership “evaluating” the sorry state of management. Can anyone in this organization ever just do something without taking a generation to mull it over?? - UIF
George Steinbrenner fired more people in 5 seconds than this team has in years. |

That's true. We would all forget this crappy season if Snow gets the boot. |

I truly hope you're right. I just don't see it. They gave JT all the power and control. JT likes Snow. Maybe their thought is if JT leaves, Snow's gone. But if he stays, you stay. Which, in and of itself, is asinine. |

Good point. Unless as someone just said, maybe they're in delicate negotiations with JT right now?
I dunno. I'm grasping at straws, trying to make sense of the Islanders. |

Exactly. If he's so worried about what the fans think, which he appears to be since he allegedly wanted to meet with the billboard people, then fire Snow and you'll have a happy fan base. Yes, I know, there's still JT. You know what, f uck him. I really don't care if he re-signs or not. Trade him(preferable), let him walk(not preferable), who cares. If you trade him, take the picks and rebuild with a new GM. |

I'm not sure you'd want it to be the person you've judged too incompetent to continue in that role... |

Like I said before - I totally understand the pessimism. I think its a very real possibility that Snow could be GM next year and it makes me sick. I also think you could be right about JT and Snow which would be beyond asinine. However, they didn't endorse him so we are stuck in limbo for now. |

I know you are. And I hope you don't think I'm singling you out or anything. It's just a very sad state of affairs right now and I've had it with this dipsh it approach to running an organization. |

They did, they declined his invitation to come have a private, off-the-record meeting in Ledecky's suite where they surely would have been threatened with all sorts of legal action and other consequences. Good for them, they're doing more than anyone else to help force the owners' hands here. They deserve a (frank)ing medal. - eichiefs9
They did a great job. I mentioned yesterday we need more billboards. |

Facked up thing is the owners are so petrified of losing JT they can't fire Snow & Weight for fear of JT leaving. I would be willing to bet anything if JT still had a couple of years left on the deal they would have been fired yesterday. They won't decide on Snow & Weight until JT decides. Which is facked up. That means they will let Snow draft and then might still fire him in July if JT walks Bad news letting one player dictate how this team will move forward. It wouldn't surprise me if JT going to bat for Snow & Weight today actually pissed off the owners and now they feel like they have to hold onto them for now. It's facking BS the more I think of it |

He has no idea what he's doing. He's incompetent and I'm starting to think that he's more of a real estate speculator than a hockey team owner. - eichiefs9
Ledecky was probably dreaming of Belmont when he was minority owner of the Caps. |

I know. I'm just venting. The frustration has boiled over now. It's the whole "we're going to evaluate". (frank) evaluating. Take some action. You've had 2 seasons to evaluate this idiot. You're 0-2 as owners in making the playoffs. |

What kind of sh itty business owner allows his employees to dictate who runs your business. If that's how they operate, then how do they still have a dime? |

Snow would get the draft and the opening day of FA in that scenario...arguably the two most important days to set the team up for next season. |

Listen we all know what that means. They aren't going to come out and say its up to JT staying or going whether they clean house. It's facking sad but its the truth |
