hahah fair enough - MattStrat
Yeah I mean if you can recall something like "Dumo had 8 failed zone exits last game when he was on his offside" then maybe you have some good info. Otherwise it is pretty hard to go off memory and whatnot. |

I honestly don't think we win tonight. I had way too good of a sports day last night so I'm just assuming one of the Pens or the Sixers are gonna lose. Honestly I hope its the Pens. This Sixers game is way too goddamn important. |

Honestly, I would be in favor of putting Brassard on Crosby's wing and bumping Rust down. Rust had that hot streak a while back but it's dissipated of late.
Also, people keep blaming Letang on the PK goal, but why was Dumoulin going to Vanek when he was on the boards? He was leaving Letang with a 2v1 down low while Vanek was no threat and was being pressured by the backchecking forward. Dumo left Tanger high and dry - WSCTeton17
To be honest, I thought there were a few mistakes, Dumo shouldn't pressed Vanek IMO, and who was the forward? Sheahan? I thought he should have come low as Dumo went to the boards to cover the slot. He got caught puck watching hard and left the slot WIDE open. |

Connor Sheary, for good or for bad he plays the game hard and never quits. The good was that goal, all desire. The bad was the big hit on Phil, Phil might still be feeling that one. |

CBJ will being playing a Preds AHL affiliate. No need for them to play anyone in that game.
Same with the Devils and Caps. Interesting Saturday to say the least. I can see the Rags going all out against the Flyers. |

Home ice advantage in the first round is a need to play everyone. |

If Letang doesn't gamble there that's not a goal. Sheahan was covering the far point. Letang was in the slot, he just tried to anticipate the pass and he was wrong. |

Preds already have it. What I meant was the Predators and Caps have nothing to really shoot for. They are locked into their respective slots.

Dumo was aggressive because he and Hags had a chance to out man him. Letang tried to read the play and abandoned the front of the net. He read it wrong. If he had of stayed in front of the net the worst that comes form the play is the puck stays on the perimeter behind the net. That would have given Sheahan time to move down. - Thorny87
There's not a chance that Sheahan has enough time to recover. If Vanek moves the puck down low then it's a clear cut 2v1 against Letang. We're on the PK, the idea isn't to out man the other team, that's supposed to be their job. If he just sits down low and let Hags push him outside, the play probably just continues around the boards |

How biased are your eyes though? And for the record I have never been overly impressed with Dumo. He is like a better version of Dekeyser for me. - Feds91Stammer
I really liked Dumo in the past. You never really noticed him in a great or hugely negative way but this year I think a lot of us certainly have. He's still not a bad player. He just makes bad plays sometimes. |

Yea for sure but Dumo even pinching their is a bad take. The risk-reward isn't worth it. It was all on a backcheck too so there's so much for the forward to look at. If it was just a regular rotation of shortside D coming up and weakside F coming down then that's one thing but its hard to ask for that kind of accountability off the fast break |

I disagree. The player would have had the puck behind the net with Letang in between him and Jenner. He wouldn't have been a threat to score unless he moves up from down low. That would have given Sheahan time to correct.
You're right about Dumo's pinch though, there is no real need for him to be that aggressive. Sully's comments about them not being aggressive seems to have them all overplaying the puck carrier a bit. |

I just watched it (again), Milano isn't behind the net. He's still moving his feet below the goal line. So he gets the puck and starts to walk to the net as any forward would do. At the very least it's more of a look of a "2 on 1 with a backchecker" where Sheahan is the backchecker. I never said that Letang played it well, just that Dumo put Letang in a bad spot and it was certainly unnecessary |

Congrats on the win, Good luck beating NJ in Round 1.
That was a humiliating loss for the CBJ, and all the proof anyone needs that they cannot beat PIT. A truly embarrassing performance, especially in the 3rd period.
If WAS has a goalie that plays like he's a QMJHL level player the CBJ might see PIT in Round 2. |
