I agree that it was unfortunate for us that Queenville would remain with Chicago. But, as I mentioned about a week ago, that talk of him being gone in Chicago had died down greatly by March, since they were without their #1 goalie in Crawford for just about the entire season, which aided greatly if not being the key to their failures, prior to even Toews being out injured.
Could you imagine what A.V. and the Rangers record would be without having Hank for nearly this entire disastrous season that was anyway?
And going into the season, many including I were worried alone about Pavelec not being able to replace Raanta's success as backup. So A.V. then burned out Hank from the season's horrible 3-7-2 start through Oct. 28th, having him even 2 or 3 months later be on his way to make at least 70 starts, in thinking he was only age 25 instead.

If AV didn't have Hank we probably have maybe 20-25 wins and I'm being generous. I felt trading raanta was folly and the trade overall was very weak in regards of what we got back for stepan and raanta. First rounder and DeAngelo was too little return for that. This is why I'm not a fan of Gorton too many times we've gotten the short end of his trades.

After winning the winter classic the rangers we're 21-13-5. From that point on they went 13-26-4. 30 losses overall in their last 43 games. This is on the coaching staff and ownership and players.

I thin giving up Miller for namestnikov was bad. Sure Miller drove me nuts with his bonehead penalties but he at least was present on offense. Name has been MIA since he got here. Only hope is a new coach can bring out his potential. But I'm not holding my breath.

Can we please, please not go down this road again?

I agree with you 100% on Miller's loss, and only hope that it had nothing to do with A.V.'s preference, when he should be the one who should be gone in the end, along with Ruff and Arniel.
An entire new bench direction is needed here now, and has hopefully been in consideration dating back to that Feb. 8th selling memo they issued.

Unfortunately I think AV had everything to do with Miller getting shipped out. And all it did was show what Miller can be playing with top tier talent. We don't have the talent like stamkos or kucherov but Miller put up decent numbers with us. And he got traded for a player who gave us four points since his arrival. Very alarming

I saw Puddin' Head's number in the rafters. Didn't know you retired 88.

Well said 100% there, Lundqvist79.

Their 34-39-9 record for 77 Total Points looks even worse for the season when breaking it out completely in 3 extended stretch periods.

(1st) From season's start through Oct. 28th: (3-7-2) for (8 of 24 Points)
(2nd) October 31st through January 6th,'18: (19-7-3) for (41 of 58 Points)
(3rd) January 7th through the Season's End: (12-25-4) for (28 of 82 Points)

So not including their best 19-7-3 stretch for 41 Total Points earned in those 29 games played from Oct. 31st through Jan. 6th, they went only 15-32-6 for only 36 Total Points in their other 53 games for the season.

Earning both only 28 points, and winning only 12 of their final, and in effect, full second half season's worth of exactly 41 games, is worse by numbers in comparison to even the Sabres 62 points in 81 games, with that equivalent to them averaging 31 points for each season's half.

That is plenty enough reason to replace this entire bench coaching staff.

So not including their best 16-5-1 stretch for 33 Total Points in those 22 games played from Oct. 31st through Dec. 19th, they went 18-34-8 for only 44 Total Points in their other 60 games for the season.

That is plenty enough reason to replace this entire bench coaching staff.

The only one on the coaching staff who should stay is beniot allaire. Yes Hank had a bad year but I believe alot of it was AV burning him out early bc pavelec was not the answer as the backup. And with the defense being a mess that didn't help either. But one thing needs to work on in off season is the five hole. Too many shots went through him this year.

I edited my "3 breakout period season stretches" post you had replied to here with your "coaching staff" words, due to a few typo errors I made on that initial post. I also broke out the last two of 3 stretches of games' lengths slightly different there. That actually makes their 3rd and final Points Earned % breakout look even slightly worse than this original one I used.

I agree with you in only retaining Allaire. Look at how Raanta was just awarded with his new annual $4M+ multi year contract just yesterday, after Allaire's guidance here led him to about a .920 Save % with the near league's worst, but hotter in the second half of the season, Coyotes.
The Rangers need a completely new direction under a completely new bench coaching staff, which must be Gorton and Co.'s very first off season move much more very sooner than closer to the Draft.

At least the season ended with a 5-0 loss in A.V. game type style, with Hank facing 40 Shots On Goal once again, to the Rangers only being able to barely challenge Elliott with just 17 S.O.G.

it's a shame to see any great player cut down by injuries. even enemy players. his number was retired this year. those fences have been mended, and that's a good thing.

When I saw it was 4-0 after I told my wife who is a flyers fan I wanted them to score 3-4 more to make it look really bad. Anything to get AV the hell out of there.

I agree with old school 100% on Hank and Miller . Everyone has jumped on the Miller lazy bad penalties poop but over look Zucc's bad passes bad penalties . I believe Miiller was a plus player when he left unlike many rangers . The reason people keep bring up the trade of Miller because it's was a bad trade and the guy who made the trade is running the club still

It's a horrendously bad trade. As bad as the hagelin trade.

What I do like about this year is Hayes has found out he has a good shot and has used it more lately. Like Zib and may turn out to be a #1 centre . Will the real CK20 stand up please. Is he the power forward that he's showing now or is it just another hot streak ? I can't comment on the young D and forwards playing now because haven't watched a game in awhile but read lots of good things about them . This is a make or break draft for GMG and the Rangers !! Is this a 3-4 year rebuild or a forever build , see Buff , Oilers and the coyotes . I don't follow JR hockey besides the WJC so can't say who'd I want the Rangers to draft but looking forward to next year as long as AV is gone .

I can't blame you one bit, and couldn't see any reason for a delay of any time length for A.V. in key to be axed.
Mike Yeo may be on his way out of St. Louis soon, after being fired previously by the Wild a few years back. And that would be with a Blues team that may miss reaching the postseason despite having 94 points, and in key due to his choice of starting goalies used these past few weeks in their drive to make the postseason.

Furthermore, if Lou Lamariello can fire Robbie Ftorek with the Devils in 1st place just prior to a postseason some ages back, then A.V. had no chance of surviving this season, which I mentioned earlier, could come by Rangers breakup day this Tuesday in Westchester County, or very soon after. It came even sooner than I, and I'm sure most here would have ever thought it would.

I agree, bring a new, young voice in. No idea who though.

I'm shocked that they did it so quickly though, so hats off to Gorts for that. If anything, I was expecting it after the breakup day.
