So your argument is that despite it being the law, he's somehow getting around the law and risking fines/prison time, simply cause it suits your argument?

Or that accountants that are paid enough are just able to magically make it so he doesn't have to pay taxes? Sure there are ways to minimize stuff, like charities, but he could be doing that stuff anyways, and isn't just useful for dodging paying taxes in Canada and the state he's playing in.

I'm not looking to get into a lenghty discussion here, because I'm pretty sure that you are just looking for an argument for the sake of arguing, but for someone with multiple degrees and certifications who specializes in tax accounting on both sides of the border for both individuals and corporations, it's pretty clear that you don't know what the (frank) you are talking about

Actually he's making more of an assumption because he has no evidence to prove that Tavares is a flashy, center of attention kind of guy. My stance is that the past 10 years of his career, he's never shown that character like for example PK Subban. So for his assumption to be right, he'd have to be hiding this personalty from everyone.

I'm also glad you said state, because he also has to pay US Federal tax, which is hardly zero, or any number even close to that.

It's not like he'd have to carry the Leafs on his back like Gilmour or Sundin did. Tavares is a quieter personality like Yzerman and Sakic were. 5 Stanley Cups between the two of them.
