You really need to get over your hate of Sam. He's a key piece moving forward and is going to get a nice long-term deal. It's not your money and they will have plenty to spend elsewhere.

The kid is and always has been a top-tier play maker that is just coming into his own and has maybe the best hands on the team not named Jack or Casey. You really want to keep guys like Sam and with the right group of players around him could be an all-star player in the future.

The GM, coach and his crew lay out the facts. They give their collective verdict, and ultimately, yes, Terry signs off on contracts and trades. But to say Terry just steps in and says you need to do x with player y is ludicrous.
