I think his time is up here, regardless of anything. A usually-visible owner has been radio-silent lately and that probably doesn't bode well for Garth.
The real question is whether or not they can afford to flat-out fire him and pay the remainder of the bullshit contract that fart-huffing, book-cooking fraudster (frank)face Charles Wang gave him.
I don't want him to be "promoted" to some other position where his greasy, shitty fingers can still touch anything related to this team. - eichiefs9
They can afford it. If they can't we have even bigger problems. |

well lets see.....when richardson and buchberger were asst coaches with the oilers, their teams were really bad. no really really bad. so what makes anyone think they would be a good hire..... gomez never coached before. clueless just like (dead)weight.
and how does snow let this happen? time to clean house..... - nyislsbossy
Like everything else with this team its " Friends First" not winning. If Snow and Weight and all his buddies are not fire after this season what a joke.
But it will not happen because of signing JT ,

Either Snow is gone or half the fan base. I'm done if he's back next season along with everyone else I know. - Cptmjl

We’ve had this convo before but i cannot imagine this ownership spent half a billy goat on this team, just got approval to build a new arena and are worried about a few years of Snows contract. How much could he be making?? A million a year? I don’t believe they are afraid to eat that conny. My honest opinion is the ownership was trying to keep things status quo until they got their new arena where they would see ALL profits. Unfortunately i don’t think they thought this team would suck this bad this far along. Hell i certainly didn’t taking the over 2000x on this season at 89 pts - kindlyrick
We'll have to just wait and see, I guess. Personally, I won't accept any form of Garth staying on the payroll as acceptable. |

If they don't they'll most likely wind up losing more than his contract. I'd like to believe they're well aware of this but who knows really? We'll find out how stupid these two are in a few weeks |

You bring up an excellent point. There’s been way too much nepotism here. Wayyyyy too many friends first moves. |

I’ve said this before but 12 years of drafting and Bridgeport is a bubble team. Let’s also not forget the money Snow had to throw around under Wang. He swung and missed with MANY UFAs, so he had money to spend under Wang as well. He just phucking sucks. It’s that simple. Enough is enough. I can’t even watch this team. - kindlyrick
I have not been watching the games. No reason to watch the rest of the games. I'm only interested in a house cleaning at this point. |

Exactly! If they cannot afford to fire Garth they have huge problems. Any idea of JT liking Garth has to be out the window at this point. I still would not let JT stop me in firing Garth. |

I don’t disagree with you at all.....Snow is like the mush (from goodfellas). Everything he touches goes to sh1t.
Side topic : i think the handling of Tavares and his contract situation is another example of poor management. I don’t see how you say he’s never going to be traded when he’s not signed? Then again the same GM stated that he never thought his job was in jeopardy after all this suck. The utter balls on him... |

I haven’t been on here for obvious reasons. I’ve heard it with respect to goalie coaches etc. But playing time to me should never be based on that. Not calling up Ho sang and putting another minor leaguer (i forget who) to play with Tavares when bailey got hurt was not a team first move. |

There are only two things I'm interested in with the team right now. Barzal and seeing if Lee can get 40 goals. I almost hope he doesn't. Schwein will be pissed if he gets that tattoo and Lee is traded in the summer by a new GM. |

Tavares is an elite talent. But, if he’s what’s kept Snow here then see ya. The isles have to start over in some fashion. Hopefully it’s by bringing in an experienced GM. There are a lot of teams who’d give up a kings ransom for the rights to Tavares. It costs nothing to listen....I’d field all offers. |

Hell(frank)ingno. If JT loves him so much I hope he goes to the rangers and brings Snow with him. |

I think you could get a 3rd that becomes a conditional second if he signs. I doubt anyone gives up a first just for negotiating rights |

Would be nice for Lee to get 40, but not nice enough for me to watch right now. Isles doing pretty much nothing at the deadline took a lot of the wind out of the sails. |

Any player who seriously thinks Garth is the answer for GM is not the answer for this team. This does not mean I think JT feels this way. This entire JT thing has been handled very badly and while JT is not the GM, he has not handled things that well either. |

Ses, quite honestly if I'm JT and his Agent and Snow didn't demand an answer from him/them on his decision than I would have done the same thing.
Can't blame them for taking advantage of the ineptness of Snow. |

Just think JT has been wishy washy with some of his comments. The fault is with Garth and he has the power being GM, but if JT had serious doubts about signing I think the right thing to do is telling Garth to explore trades. Garth will get most of the blame and rightly so if JT walks for nothing, but it's not going to make JT look great and he might not care. |

Well, I think JT wanted to truly see how this year worked out as far as the progress
( or regression )of the team, and also to a lesser extent The arena issue. As the GM, Snow should have said JT if we don't have some sort of deal in principle I can't let you walk and get nothing in return.
JT earned his FA and the right to see what else is out there however Snow let him dictate the terms and thats all on him.
Again, can't blame JT's camp for exploiting Snow's stupidity.
Just my opinion of course.
Glad that my Uber fares are agreed to before the pick up because I couldn't handle this negotiating stuff. |
