So, would you still sign Jack to a $10M deal this summer? Or did he do enough this year to earn more?

I'm not sure he did.

I also don't think McDavid is worth $12M.

With this salary cap I think $9M, maybe a bit more, is the upper limit I'd give a player before he starts to harm your chances at other good players and still fill out a team.

I think he’s worth 9-10 right now.

Interesting.
Sam based on the last 35 games. First 2 seasons were 40's?
Ror based on his consistent 3 years in buffalo? 55-60

I'd say ror has more value than Sam, but I could change my mind

Don't know your feelings on advanced stats, but Sam's are better (which takes into account his first half).

skunk 8 years 5 per yes or no?

(frank) no.

Intriguing, depends on how much better you expect him to get.

I think lesser of advanced stats than most. Interesting though. Stats can be a tie breaker.
I like the eye test. Flat out scoring and making goals happen. Any goals any time.

But I think ror has him by probably 40-50 on the same teams. 3 years together in buffalo

So after they sign JT and Kovi, where's all this cap space coming from?
- sskkoo1

Mark it down and put it in a safe place.

He's worth more than 10. Superstars in the NHL are underpaid, and always have been. Good players are overpaid...even average players are overpaid.

Fear not Gerbe.

The 5 minute power play was an anomaly that turned the game.

Hopefully Antipin is ok.

I don't disagree, but with the salary cap, something has to give, and since there are a lot of "good" players and few superstars and since the NHL does such a terrible job highlighting their stars they get the shaft, if the shaft was more money in one year than most people will earn in 2 lifetimes.

It's clearly starting to shift though. McDavid and Draistl pretty much determined Eichel's deal. The next wave of deals this summer should be in line with this too. It'll have ramifications, as it should.

That's fine, I don't try to slam advanced stats down anyone's throat. Even to the eye test, the PP is different. RoR has more PP points than Sam, but it's the same PP. Sam is a big part of goals, even when he doesn't get points. It's all really Jack's PP though. He creates the entries and opens space. Everyone else is replaceable.

Legitimately have no idea what this means. NSH announcers or Buffalo I'm guessing?

I didn't realize he had 5 assists until the intermission report and I thought I misheard, because they mentioned it in a very off the cuff way, and I just now saw that Reinhart had a hat trick. Did RJ/Rayzor even acknowledge it?
