How does Chiarelli still have a job? Trade you Seabrook and Stan Bowman for a bag of pucks and a half roll of clear tape

I'm not talking about next year, 2 years from now, 3 years with contracts "looming"

I'm talking about RIGHT NOW, TO-DAY....

Sure, you'd have Holes in the lineup, But YOU HAVE HOLES NOW!

You can't be much worse than you are now, look at the standings

If you could undo

#16 for Reinhart
Hall for Larsson
4 years 16 million for Russel
Eberle for Strome
6 million per for Lucic

Which one you going to do again? Which one was a solid move?

Every move, and I mean every move has been a Mistake in hindsight

All the Oil had to do was nothing with their roster and resign their RFA's and they'd be in a better place

If they didn't have Larsson last season, they wouldn't have made the playoffs (even with Hall) now obviously if they had traded someone else other than Hall, the trade would've been fine, but you gotta understand he was sorta underachieving here. He had two seasons where he played like a number one pick, but other than that he was a good player but was never point per game. Even his first season in New Jersey he wasn't that great. He's obviously turned that around but they really needed a dman. It's hard to excuse but there is an argument to be made.

If they didn't have Russell last season, they wouldn't of made the playoffs. I think his contract is bad, but he's alright on the third pairing.

Lucic's contract is bad. If he doesn't bounce back next season I'll be pissed. He had a good season last season but he needs to get his poop together.

Strome for Eberle isn't that bad. Eberle, as much as I like him (and he was my favourite player for quite awhile) was a lazy player. Didn't want to get hit and wouldn't go into the corners. Value wise the trade wasn't great, but Strome is a RHC and has some upside left. Also 3.5 million bucks left.

Reinhart trade was absolute poop and Chiarelli should kill himself.

The defense is miles ahead of where it was in 2015-16.

They had no RHD other than (frank)ing Gryba. It was a mess. They would've been a lot more successful this season had Talbot not poop the bed and Klefbom and Sekera were to be healthy.

Yakupov: .875 million
McDavid: 12.5 million
Kassian: 1.950 million
Hall: 6 million
Draisaitl: 8.5 million
Puljujarvi: .925 million
Eberle: 6 million
Nuge: 6 million
Barzal: .863.3 Million
Pouliot: 4 million
Letestu: 1.8 million (and would need to be signed and would likely have a decent year) so like 2.5 million
Maroon: 4 million (likely what he'd sign for)

Forwards are 54,113,333 million a year with both Barzal and Puljujarvi's new deals looming. Eberle's contract would expire at the end of next season and Hall's at the end of that. Both would be looking for a raise.

Sekera: 5.500 million
Klefbom: 4.167 million
Nurse .863.333 million (and a pay raise) so between 2.5 million to 3 million

12,667,000 for defense

Talbot: 4,166,667 million

So in total that team would cost 70,947,000 million. But wait, they still have Slepyshev at .925 million, Caggiula at the same price, Khaira at .675 million and Pakarinen at .725 million. So now the cap is at 74,197,000

The cap is projected rise to 78 million - 82 million so with four million to eight million they'd need to sign:

a number one RHD, a top 4 RHD and a bottom pairing which won't count for a lot. Plus a backup goalie.

Then they'll need space for Eberle, Barzal and Puljujarvi's contract at the end of the 2018-19 season.

The defense would be unbearable, especially if Sekera and Klefbom had terrible years.

See why your comment is stupid and why hindsight doesn't work

Did you just make a logical post?
A post that wasn't trollish and non-sensical?
All this and you didn't mention the 3-3.5 raise Iiro deserves IYO. I'm impressed.
It must be April fools.

The move I would undo is Lucic 7 years x 6 million.
For the simple fact that he's worth an 8 year deal at $7.5mill obviously
