I'm not talking about next year, 2 years from now, 3 years with contracts "looming"
I'm talking about RIGHT NOW, TO-DAY....
Sure, you'd have Holes in the lineup, But YOU HAVE HOLES NOW!
You can't be much worse than you are now, look at the standings
If you could undo
#16 for Reinhart
Hall for Larsson
4 years 16 million for Russel
Eberle for Strome
6 million per for Lucic
Which one you going to do again? Which one was a solid move?
Every move, and I mean every move has been a Mistake in hindsight
All the Oil had to do was nothing with their roster and resign their RFA's and they'd be in a better place

If they didn't have Larsson last season, they wouldn't have made the playoffs (even with Hall) now obviously if they had traded someone else other than Hall, the trade would've been fine, but you gotta understand he was sorta underachieving here. He had two seasons where he played like a number one pick, but other than that he was a good player but was never point per game. Even his first season in New Jersey he wasn't that great. He's obviously turned that around but they really needed a dman. It's hard to excuse but there is an argument to be made.
If they didn't have Russell last season, they wouldn't of made the playoffs. I think his contract is bad, but he's alright on the third pairing.
Lucic's contract is bad. If he doesn't bounce back next season I'll be pissed. He had a good season last season but he needs to get his poop together.
Strome for Eberle isn't that bad. Eberle, as much as I like him (and he was my favourite player for quite awhile) was a lazy player. Didn't want to get hit and wouldn't go into the corners. Value wise the trade wasn't great, but Strome is a RHC and has some upside left. Also 3.5 million bucks left.
Reinhart trade was absolute poop and Chiarelli should kill himself.
