no first or fourth

In that case (frank), em, let em lose every game, miss the playoffs and have no pick in the 2018 1st round. That would be awesome!

Would be nice, but they are definitely making the playoffs

Right. Boston could overtake Tampa though.
- Hextall271

I hope they do, that would probably mean 3 losses for the Panthers and would all but guarantee the Flyers get in.

Hey ya never know, maybe Crosby slips in practice and, as Malkin trips over him and blows out his knee, the collision also gives Crosby a concussion.

Technically the above is not impossible.

Not sure if Bill mentioned this, but G just tied his career high in points. I’d love to see him crack 100 pts on the year, but he’d need to ball out the remaining 4 games. I don’t even recall the last Flyer to break 100...Recchi in 92-93?

Edit: looks like it was Lindros in 94-95 with 115.

Yeah. I know what you're saying and I don't know what the answer is. Sanheim has an active stick to pole check etc but you need a shot blocker. Ghost isn't an option imo. Maybe the problem is gudas and manning together. Put gudas and hagg out maybe.
- Hextall271

Or always have one of Provorov and AMac out and rotate the others. Maybe do something (ideally) like:

2:00-1:30 - Provorov + AMac
1:30-1:00 - Provorov + Gudas/Manning
1:00-0:30 - AMac + Gudas/Manning
0:30-0:00 - Provorov + Amac

Can someone tell me why hak didn't take his time out there?
- Hextall271

Can't take a timeout immediately following your team icing the puck.

Pretty sure Lindros cracked 100 at least once.

Yeah just checked. Lindros in 94-95 with 115. It’s crazy how they haven’t had anyone in over 20 years.

I know I'm being not picky but it was 95-96 as the previous year was shortened season. I remember that year vividly. Man did lindros dominate. That's another team that could have won if the panthers hadn't been allowed to basically tackle every skilled flyers player for six games. Man that hockey was crazy to watch. Like rugby.

OT, but John LeClair won the NHL Plus/Minus Award in 1999. After Lindros in 94/95, I think this was the only NHL award won by a Flyer until Lappy won the Masterson for not playing in 2011.

That's 95/96. 94/95 was the lockout year. But I can't think of any others. Briere was probably the closest until Giroux in 2012.

Edit: Leight on the season.

My favorite part of that season was Lindros delivering the severe beating of Igor Ulanov.

MacDonald belongs out on the ice in that situation. I'd prefer it to be with Provorov though.
- MJL

Agreed on AMAC. As for Manning, I think the only reason he was out there was because he got stuck on an icing call. It was late, but I thought the announcers said that.

No problem. Also, the closest they've come was in 96/97 by, surprisingly, John LeClair (who also posted 97 in 95/96). I didn't know he had that many assists. I guess you just hand the puck to Lindros and Renberg and off they go.

I don't think I've ever been so pumped as I was watching that rocking my lindros jersey. Second fave player all time.

On second thought. It's prob a close second to the goal he scored late in game 5 of the ecf on 97 at msg.

It’s amazing what the refs allowed to go on in that series. There would have at least several suspensions to TB based on today’s officiating.

Just buy him out. Or maybe look into putting him on LTIR if there really is something underlying here
- Just5

LTIR is only used if you are going to go over the cap ceiling, which the Flyers won't be doing next year.

I still think the best matchup for the Flyers is Washington which means finishing in WC-1 spot so based on that I am go Pens. WC-2 very well may play Boston as they are really pushing Tampa right now. I really want no parts of that matchup. Same with the pens. Not saying they will definitely beat Washington, just think they are the best chance.

You're not allowed to take timeouts after you ice the puck anymore.

I am hoping Pitt, just get in the dance.

If the Flyers can get 1 point in Boston I will be happy. I will say the flyers are playing well, it is just heartburn to close out games because they can't score. Even with Manning and Gudas the Flyers have a shot to win every game.

praying for more puck luck, the Devils and Columbus have all the puck luck right now, seems the Panthers are finally not getting some bounces.

You wanna see some crazy poop, watch OT of Game 6 of the 2004 ECF. Players are getting straight-up tackled, football style, all over the place. At once point, MSL has the puck and a Flyers player jumps through the air and tackles him. You used to have to almost murder someone to get a penalty in OT of a playoff game.
