I truly believe Neuvirth has some sort of hereditary connective tissue disorder or something. Or maybe rheumatological. But I'm convinced something underlying is contributing to this. It's absurd.

What you need out there is shot blocking d men wo can clear it. To me it's be provy and mac. Mac blocked a big one at the end. Dear god did we ever get owned on that last draw with 2 seconds left. They got two (frank)ing chances????
- Hextall271

I agree, but you can't roll with just two of them for a full 2 minute 6-on-5, and two is all we have. So you pick your poison: a big, slow guy who may block a shot but who is probably not going to get a clear, or the small fast guy who won't block the shot but can use his stick to retrieve and clear the puck.

It's so frustrating. I mean you all saw the huge difference between him and mrazek. Neuvy was solid and rebound control just night and day. You can't be boxing every shot you see back into the slot like mrazek does. To the corners, ok but ideally another it.

Yeah. I know what you're saying and I don't know what the answer is. Sanheim has an active stick to pole check etc but you need a shot blocker. Ghost isn't an option imo. Maybe the problem is gudas and manning together. Put gudas and hagg out maybe.

I'm hoping for the Devils to win although i hate typing this. As you say a win in regulation is all I really need.
- Hextall271

I just want to get in the playoffs. I guess, with that in mind, give me a Devils loss in regulation. Best case for the Flyers is for the Devils and Panthers to lose whenever possible and for the Flyers to be the top wildcard. With Washington all but a lock to win the Metro, this puts us against the Capitals in round one and they are the only team I can see the Flyers having any chance of upsetting in the first round.

Only way I want Pitt to lose is if they lose all their remaining games and miss the playoffs. That is almost as good as the flyers getting in, maybe better
- wcorvette

Do the Pens have their 1st round pick? If so, I don't want to see them miss the playoffs. You just know that Uncle Gary will make sure his favorite team wins the lottery if that happens and the Pens will get the Dahlin.

Weise had one good hit and wasn't noticeable besides that, his best game of the year.
- wcorvette

Yup, Weise not (frank)ing up is pretty much the best you can expect from that useless sack of crap.

Yeah. That's possible. Shouldn't be too much of a hit. I could also see hextall walking away from mrazek. He's an rfa so I'm not sure what the qo is but if it's 4 mil. See ya
- Hextall271

The qualifier for Mrazek is a bit above 4 million, so yeah, please let him walk.

I'd also do my best to move Neuvirth prior to the start of next season, if he can get healthy. Even if they have to retain 50% of his cap hit to do so. Neuvirth healthy (God willing) and at a cap hit of 1.25 million should be marketable. Then you can let Lyon and Stolarz battle it out for the backup spot.

100%....just get in the playoffs....don’t want the Bolts or Leafs in round one.

I'm ok with this plan, but you have to move on from neuvy. He can't be a reliable backup. I wonder if hexy would consider paying the qo for mrazek for 1 year to see what you have for sure. He might not want to piss away that pick. If it still looks like he's playing ping pong while blind folded out there move on.

I don't want any part of the bolts or Bruins. I think we can beat wash but a series vs Pitt is looking like a five game loss

This teams biggest problem is how they play defensively in their own end....MacDonald in the last 5 minutes last night had 2 glaring giveaways and a coupled failed clears....one that left them on the ice after an icing... Gudas struggled as well....but they were able to get some key blocks and got the job done but it wasn’t pretty. A year from now a kid like Sanheim or Hagg will be out there, but for now it’s white knuckle time.

I agree it is tight but at least 2 times a piece gudas and manning just missed the Puck and a clear. Sanheims reach and hands make him a better fit in tight. Really in tight manning and gudas don’t knock a lot of guys off the puck, not many can. A real good stick and hands are huge.

Again I wouldn’t have but next season they need to put sanheim in those situations

- wcorvette

There are pluses and minuses for both. I think ultimately Sanheim will progress and other player such as Morin will hopefully join the mix to play in those type of situations.

Playoffs are a whole new ballgame... Bolts are only team that I’ve seen that really scare me. The Leafs have so much speed up front and I’m not sure that’s a great recipe for our current d.

Well you gotta go with Lundqvist, although I guess that MAF is sorta...

Oh, you mean who's playing the best for the Flyers? I guess Elliott, since he's the only one that hasn't played poorly in the past week.

- jmatchett383

I think MAF is ugly AF...no way I take Elliott either with Lyon's amazing curls and Mrazek's beautiful smile.

,

I really think Morin is the key to giving this D their identity, the piece they don't have. Add in Sanheim's growth and hopefully Myers and it looks good.

the good news about being so consistently inconsistent down the stretch, it is like playing in the playoffs for the kids.

We've handled the leafs and wash ok in the regular season, but yeah. Playoffs are different. If it were me, I'd have hagg in for manning and sanheim continue with regular minutes being mentored with mac.

I still have this feeling that rask will come up small for Boston as he has seemed to do in the playoffs.

No way I waste 4 million plus and a pick on Mrazek. If they can move Neuvy, and they aren't convinced that one of Stolarz or Lyon can be a capable backup, then just sign a capable veteran to a one year deal to back up Elliott.

Right. Boston could overtake Tampa though.
