Last year's draft was incredibly successful, and Beane had nothing to do with it. you truly have to wonder if McD was calling the shots. I know everyone wants to say 'yeah he was', but I just want it confirmed. Then Beane came in and made some trades. I was stunned at first, mad even. But that worked out. They're smart guys and they got rid of some boat anchors. They managed to free up like 60 million for 2019.

They traded down to be a part of this qb class, not last years. Clearly a plan is in place and there's no "scrambling". However, in hindsight, I'd wish they drafted Watson.

He was at the draft for the Bills, and they surely didn't let Doug Whaley pick. It was probably him in conjuncture with the scouts and maybe they let Whaley give input after the 4th round

So my guess is they weren't sold on Mahomes and they didn't want their offense built on a QB with legs, they wanted a pure pocket passer so that's why they didn't want Watson.

So I mean looking at what they have now, the picks and the trades they made to clear up cap space, they knew this roster didn't just need a QB, it needs a lot of key players.

Shows understanding of the game and our current situation. My praise for Beane et al comes from those trades panning out coupled with a great draft. We needed both and they got it done down on 1 Bills Dr for once.

If they come out of this draft with one of the top guys, I wont care. But they will look incredibly foolish if Mahomes and Watson are franchise players and they miss on the top guys this year.
