Nice work as always, Mr. Pachla

No one should get too excited for Corsi Middlingstats.

He scored almost half his college points at the wrong time in the game

- jcragcrumple

actually he scored a lot of them at the right time, he just didnt score at a rate that makes him the next eichel

thats all my post was about , he's still a rookie and should be given those expectations.

its also looking like eichel played on a line with 2 other nhlers and one pretty decent on in rodriguez and mittelstadt played with magic beans

assuming oreagen makes it anyways

I don't feel like entering an honest debate about ROR because it's tiring. However, I do trade him if the trade makes this team better in the short and long term. That includes not having a vacuum at 2C.
- TheSabresTaco

i feel like as kane's undeserved "reputation" drove his value down a bit, RORs undeserved reputation will drive his up. can sucker some desperate GM into giving up all of the assets

Do we really need to temper expectations already?

How was Kane's reputation undeserved if you don't mind my asking? Yes I'm scared to open up that can of worms but where there is smoke there is fire.

Yes because the heartbreak if he goes -2, 0 pts, and under 10 minutes of ice time will be more heart breaking.

Key to enjoying life, lower your expectations, then you're happy with whatever you get.

Wife taught me that, she's happy all the time. Odd.

considering the unfounded lofty expectations this fan base regularly sets, yes lol

Im just gunna enjoy the talent, i dont expect much from him overall. similar to marner on the leafs. he'll be exciting to watch, i have my doubts on whether he can actually help carry the team.

doesn't matter now...hope he's riding shotgun on eichel's wing...here's what i'd like to see in the top six on thursday:

Wilson-ror-reinhart
Mittelstadt-Eichel-baptiste

although Okposo will probably be in the mix bumping baptiste out

undeserved in the sense that it shouldn't have reflected his trade value as much i think it may have.

i just wonder if we're talking about the same stats leading up to the deal but a player who's last name is let's say "O'reilly" and he's from somewhere in ontario and says all the right things post game. Whats the trade value then?

If he plays with the wingers i assume Housley will give him, then that will probably be his statline.

I'm going to be excited about him and assume that he will be really good

Ok, I can agree with that. But his packing it in towards the end certainly didn't help. He had a reputation and he started off the year great...then tailed off. When there is a perception about you it's tough to overcome and some you'll never win over.

It just looked to me like he packed it in.

100%, perception drives the reality. Thats why guys like Risto and ROR will always carry relatively high league value, even if they may not deserve it.

someone (i think it was you actually lol) brought up not moving ROR in a deal thats 1$ for .5 but the way i see it, i think you'd be moving .75 for 1$. The acquiring team may think they're getting an additional .25 based on their perception of him but it doesn't match the reality.

That was me. I don't know what ROR's value is I just don't want to see him get moved for something ridiculously low. I have no problem listening to offers for him, though that contract may be prohibitive.

But, if Mittlestadt develops into a solid 2C, I wouldn't mind hanging on to ROR for a third line role. But we have him for what? 5 more years at this price?

Wow.

I’m hoping we bring in Brandon Marshall .. He would be a great vet to bring in and he is a good red zone threat
