Anytime GMTM made a trade, you were hoping he knew something about an obscure prospect that no one else knew. It was the best way to make sense of his deals. Kasdorf was one of those, for sure.
- Lunaion

Ok... I’ll buy that
Especially since Ottawa was good at producing goalies
I just never thought Kasdorf had any potential at all

I think you’re half right because I believe CJ Smith got 900,000 for the games he played

Sounds about right
I think the only UFAs we bring back are Wilson & Nelson

Eichel, O’Reilly, Reinhart, Okposo, Pommer, Wilson, Larsson, Girgensons, Rodrigues
That’s already 9
Plus Mittelstadt & probably our top pick

Still need room for
Bailey, Baptiste, O’Regan, Smith & Fasching...
don’t wanna lose them to waivers

That’s 16 guys right there
And what if Nylander, Asplund &/or Olofsson make the roster?

We are gonna have to clear out some guys like Pommer, Okposo, Larsson, Girgensons...
and that’s just to make room so we don’t lose any kids to waivers

I don’t think we have room to add a forward unless he’s a guy that’s going on the top line with Jack
No lotto ticket or mid-range UFA that won’t be part of our future is worth losing any of those young guys who still have potential

- jdfitz77

Watching Larson and Girgensons this year makes me miss what Foligno brought. Call me crazy but i think we really miss his presence and maybe a guy we should have held onto

I'm pretty sure no one expected him to be anything more than an ahl goalie
- Michael Pachla

There were quite a few who told me i was wrong & an idiot
Definitely quotes about him being a legit prospect & possibly turning into an nhl goalie
I thought that was crazy,
and got ripped for it

The actual salary would’ve definitely been prorated
Could’ve written the contract for him to get a certain amount of bonuses though

Asked about the depth at wide receiver, Bills coach Sean McDermott told reporters at the owners meetings Tuesday, "I like what we've got on our roster. I think there is ability there. We believe in those guys. Some are more household names than others. There are some young guys we are anxious to take a look at this spring and get them into Brian Daboll's system. I'm excited about that. And then our position in the draft, we're strategically at a good place now, and we'll see how that situation plays itself out."

Foligno was really good last year. He's the reason we got Scandella. Apparently they're unhappy with his play there after giving him an extension which is a bit confounding to me. He's having another Foligno season

Hes actually been incredibly consistent points wise his entire career. Hes an ideal 4th line guy IMO as long as you dont overpay him

after 6 years in the nhl, you are who you are

a 3rd liner that can move up a line in a pinch and play on your second team special teams

the few games I saw him this season, mirror image of him as a sabre

Him and Tim Schaller would have made a pretty solid 4th line when we are good someday..

Ok...
I’m not even sure about that though

Assuming we miss on Dahlin, we still have:
.....LH..........RH.....
Scandella-Ristolainen
Guhle-Nelson
McCabe-Bogosian
Antipin
Beaulieu

With Botterill again saying how important he believes the AHL is to development,
Pretty sure Borgen plays in Rochester

It is possible we lose Antipin &/or Nelson
So that might open room
Personally,
I’m ok moving on from Bogosian & Beaulieu

Same with the forwards though...
idk if it makes sense to bring anyone in unless they’re playing on the top pair & bumping guys down?

top pick
one relatively big trade involving roster player(s)
one medium AAV short term signing
one stop gap goalie
couple of low risk high reward signings

Gives you some adds without taking spots away from the kids. especially if we assume several ufa's currently occupying a roster spot won't be back

- Sabresfan-365

Agreed. There's turnover coming and there will be competition brought in from outside.

Hudson Fasching has to be one of the most under the radar disappointments this year no?

I’ve probably been down on Fasching more than anyone on here since day 1 of that stupid freaking trade
(I was, & still am, a McNabb believer)

That said...
his skating has improved to the point that i think he can play in the NHL
He does have nice skills around the net

He’s battled injuries again this year though
Idk if Botts & Housley see him as a fit here,
Bc he’s still not a “fast” skater (& never will be)
But he can still be trade bait,
or at least have value as part of a package
