Finally someone else gets it.

This fan base is still all doom and gloom it seems.

There is a ton of work that needs to be done to this team to make them contenders. One of which is getting a franchise QB. Yes that is the most important piece, however there are still a lot of holes to fill.

They need to draft the right guy, it doesn't matter where they pick him, 1, 2, 9, 12, 21, 65 etc. Just get the right guy.

- Stripes77

What?

How is it doom and gloom that I don't want the Bills to sit around and maybe get the guy they want but instead I want them to be aggressive?

It'd be very fascinating to sit in on those negotiations. What makes a guy like Will Borgen just sign an ATO and accept that he needs to play for Rochester, where Mittelstadt simply says I'm staying in college if you don't let me play for Buffalo? Or perhaps, Botts partially agrees with the scenario and wants to see how he performs in the NHL and get that 8 game tryout going.

You see a lot of guys that talk about how helpful getting the cup of coffee in the NHL helps their early development, Clayton Keller for example. Going to Arizona last year at the end of the year helped him tremendously in the summer to prepare. Botts likely has this in mind and wants the same for CM.

Does anyone know the rest of our sign or let walk players for this summer? It should be the 2016 draft class or earlier.

Wow...
the extent you’ll go to for the Kane bashing is just comical
Can u really just not admit he’s a good player?

- jdfitz77

He is good. And I posted exactly that in the previous blog.

But he isn't some miracle worker for the Sharks.

But you selectively read what you want so this isn't surprising

The Sabres announced "Paint the Ice" night on 4/7. "Season ticket holders will have the opportunity to paint a message on the ice, displaying their passion for the Buffalo Sabres." Oh man, this could be interesting...

Interesting is an understatement this could get ugly

Interesting. In that case, why bother.
- TheSabresTaco

Casey was probably like I only want to sign an ELC and I want to start in Buffalo

Or I go back to school

So that's pretty much what Gerbe means by saying Casey had all of the leverage.

Possibility of him playing in the World Championships also. I’d say that’s still better competition then AHL

Does he need to play in the NHL to play in the WC? I had no idea that was a req. Or is it more for, if you can hang in the NHL, you can def play for the WC

I’d sign Olofsson, Hagel and Budik to ELC’s. Give the rest AHL deals.

It’s not a requirement. But considering he isn’t eligible for AHL playoffs it’s a good option for him to continue to build camaraderie with Jack

I'm not sure if Glotov technically belongs on that list, he was CHL but he was an import from the KHL minors. So, I believe he had a couple years left to sign. And he signed with Cincy. If he didn't sign with Cincy/Rochester, he'd have to go to Europe to play.

Will and Casey signed. Next on the agenda is that top 3 pick. Risto for RNH in the offseason and O’Reilly for skinner and a prospect and my wish list is complete.

ROR for Hanifin? Can Hanifin play and be effective on the top line?

I think a deal with ROR and OEL could work. Obviously we would add, but O'Reilly would be a cheaper option for them, because a lot of his salary will be paid. We can extend OEL

Especially if they luck out and get Dahlin.

We have a lot of RFAs this year. Dang.

Reinhart
Baptiste
Bailey
Wilson
Antipin
Lehner
Smith
Fasching
Malone
O'Regan
Griffith
Kasdorf

At least we can send Kasdorf into the mystic or put him on a minor league deal. Griffith is an excellent AHL player. Only questions here are Antipin and Lehner. Hopefully we can trade Lehner's rights. Re-sign Johnson, whatever. Antipin may not even want to come back. Trade his rights if we don't want him. Which I think would be dumb. Per 60 mins, he's actually pretty decent.

Yea that too. Going to be an interesting offseason with a lot of moving parts.
