I can see us returning to the playoffs with decent QB play.

Mainly because the AFC is still weak as hell, and besides JAX, HOU and NE, I don't see many up and coming teams.

- sbroads24

Perhaps

But that would mean drafting 3 or 4 starters in the first 3 rounds

They have a huge need at middle linebacker, they did address the DE in free agency but they still need a deep threat WR, a nickel corner (or starter for that matter because who knows with Davis) then there is the OL.

I think they get better "QB play" from McCarron meaning he is more of a pocket QB but the OL scares me.

the "irony" is that there were 3 sought after qbs and the bills got the 4th one

similar to how its going to (probably) turn out this season if they can't trade up

- robz228

Except there are 4 QBs this year, it really depends on what the Giants do to be honest. If they pick a QB then the Bills better try to get to 4 because 3 QBs will be off the board but I just don't see that happening.

what are you talking about.. if we trade up it is going to cost more than just the 2 1st from this year.. and its not like we got them because someone didn't want them we actually had to give something to get them.
- IndianaSabresFan

You mean getting free picks at the draft and trading a guy that wasn't going to sign here sounds pretty free to me

If it cost the first next year who gives a poop just do it just get the quarterback and everything will work itself out

What are you talking about?

All of the picks that were acquired assets were given up to get them.

Nothing is free

Roethlisberger went 7 picks after those two. If they were that sought after, and still lasted to 11, who's to say 1 of the 4 don't last until 12?

This hype happens every year, and guys falls, every year

We got free picks for a guy that was going to probably walk in free agency so I consider that free money

Didn't you guys do that in the Ben Roethlisberger draft that worked out great
- gerbe75pts

It's foolish to compare one draft to another.

Giving up 4 first round draft picks smells of panic to me (the alleged cost to move to 2)

I would rather stay at 12 and see how the draft if playing out and if they have to move to 8 or 9 then move a pick in the 2nd to make that happen to make sure they get a guy they like.

I think people forget how much changes between now and the draft.

Half of the rumors are BS, half the teams are trying to bait other teams into trading up.

And you basically got a second round pick for Tyrod Taylor who you were going to cut so that's free money

Then there is the agents "leaking info" to try to get their guy drafted in the top 5 which means more money for their client and themselves.

At no point did they say they were going to do this. In fact, they publicly stated they wouldn't.

Just like he publicly said he wasn't going to move up in the draft a day later moves up in the draft

Just like they publicly said they were fine paying Tyrod Taylor his bonus and keeping him on the roster bullpoop

They were going to cut him

No they weren't. When the statement came out, they said they will not cut him. The missing words were [If we can't find a trade partner before the start of the league year,] we have no problem paying his bonus.

Sure, and I agree to an extent with this, but we don't know who they like. That's my point.

They could like Rosen a lot, but not have the ammo to trade up and meet the Giants demands.

They could like Jackson almost as much as Rosen, and know he will be there at 12.

The smarter play is waiting in that case.

If they only love one guy, then sure, get him at all costs

You mean how he was traded before the season?

The only thing that was "free" in my eyes was the Tyrod trade but I really think the Bills would have kept him for this year if they couldn't find someone to trade for him and use him as a bridge guy

You do know they've moved up already right?

They moved from 21 to 12

so they didn't just stay put
