Any contract Karlsson signs will probably come with a NMC. Why would he do the sens any kind of favours just for another couple of years added. I can't see him signing a contract that would allow the sens to trade him anywhere. If the sens want to trade him for big assets then they need to do it this off-season when his NTC is only giving a list of 10 teams he doesn't want to go to. I can see him demanding a NMC clause or at the very list make it that he list 10 teams he would only accept a trade too. I also can't see him accepting a trade to either the Habs or the oilers, two teams just as bad if not worse off then the sens. |

I don't see Karlsson going to either Edmonton or Montreal. If he moves it will be to Tampa or Los Angeles. However, I think a deal for Karlsson would require the engagement of multiple teams.
If you step back and look at the current landscape it appears that the Sens are open to moving Karlsson. Also, there have been reports about the Kings wanting to move Doughty and anxious to acquire Karlsson. The Oilers need to reduce the $000 commitment they have made down the middle for three centres ($28m. per season) and they need to improve their speed, especially on the back end. You probably need to add picks and players to balance it out but it is possible to posture a Sens, Kings and Oil three way (Karlsson, Doughty and Draisaitl). Even raises the possibility of another team being engaged in order to ensure salary cap integrity.
I wonder if the Phaneuf deal with LA was a first step leading to an even larger deal with the Sens. I also think Hoffman to Edmonton to skate with McDavid is something that has strong appeal.

He will be traded, but no sign and trade, probably at the deadline next season and for half of what they would have gotten this year at the deadline, as mismanagement goes Ottawa is right up there with a certain team I may know........ |

Karlsson and Ryan are going hand in hand wherever they go.
I don't even wish this on the Oilers. Unless they take Lucic back. Then maybe.. |

No way Draisaitl gets traded. Not even a subject of discussion. If he was a winger then you might have something, but GM's will rarely trade a centre if they can avoid it. - Yobble Have you realized who is at the helm in Edmonton? I wonder how Seguin became a Dallas Star. |

The Habs owners is making it priority #1 in his meeting with the management team
Weber and Karlsson on the team? That's a lot of money on the blue line. |

Considering the lack of talent elsewhere, they can afford it. |
