On a different note, what is the rationale behind this Kingery deal? Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Kingery doesn't have any MLB experience time. So his service time is 0. They signed him for 6 years. Doesn't that just take him to his first arbitration year? Why not just have him under control on the cheap until then?

Seems strange. I'm not complaining about it I just haven't ever seen something like this. Shocking, almost. Seem to be doing him a favor.

It's been done I believe once or twice before. You expect somebody to become a superstar so to make them happy you sign them to a contract. It's still a low cost deal at only 4 per season. It maximizes the money he will get in his rookie contract while we get an extra year of him for cheap. Win win. It also foregoes the messy stand off of us sending him down to start the year for another year of controllable contract

Not in the short term. Kepler said he's going to use him like Marwin Gonzalez.

That being said yes come summertime I believe ceasar will play 2nd, JP at short, kingery at 3rd

I feel you. I thought of it as kind of getting everything off on the right foot. Kid is gonna be a real player.

According to the one analyst apparently from age 24 to 32 he will only make 65 million. If he's as good as we all think he will be that's ridiculously good value.
