I understand not resigning him, but at the very least he adds depth to a depleted bottom 6.

Now how much and how long he wants is another story. As well as some of the other kids they have coming up.

It's a tough call to say the least.

I think he has an injury going on also. It’s going to depend on a few things but the flyers have some power forward prospects banging on the door. It also doesn’t mean they dont have the cap space to offer him a 3 year deal between 4-5 mil. If he wants to be paid upwards of 6 mil like a backes deal then it’s see you later.

He's going to take the best offer he's going to get and I don't blame him. A 3 or 4 year deal isn't going to cut it. He's going to get at least 6 x 6. Nature of the business.

Who is going to pay the price for him ? And has the cap to give him that ?

At 6 x 6 we'll have to throw him off the bus while it's moving and get him to take a taxi home a la the Gerard gallant firing

Seriously? That's a pretty average FA number for a guy who puts up 50+ a year.

If he gets to free agency. If we don't have an extension in place I imagine we would trade him. If we're looking for a prospect and 1st rounder like most have suggested who is giving us that than signing him. The only 2 teams who ate contender ish plus have the cap without a lot of ufa are Vegas and dallas. Vegas doesn't have a prospect pool to pull from. Dallas likely won't give us a lottery pick for him.

Just can't afford that with the kids contracts coming eventually. We don't want to be like Edmonton and trade hall and Eberle because you signed Lucic and draisaitl to stupid money.

Wasn't able to watch the game due to a family function. Watched the goal highlights. Seems as tough there is some detail missing. Gostisbehere and Provorov moving up on the play on the same side of the ice in "I" formation on the Brassard goal. Not a good idea. MacDonald has to get a shot block on the Malkin goal. He normally would block that, turned into a screen. Gostisbehere defended horribly on the Crosby goal, gave him as easy lane to shoot.

Did Lyon get hurt or pulled by Hakstol? Didn't look to me like any of the goals Lyon let in were soft.

Pulled. They asked Hak in game if it was due to his play or trying to jump start the team. He said it was a bit of both.

Really a bummer that you have to pull a goalie that soon after the start of a period to get a jump start out of your skaters.

Anyone else feel like Giroux and Ghost should be out there every other shift in OT?

You mean over tk coots and provy who have 3 ot winners ? No no I dont. But I think that group g Jake ghost and 1 other line with Patrick sanheim lindblom should be the only 3 we use.

That would first mean actually possessing the puck in OT. Quite a few times this year they just can't get the puck back from the opposition. Including today.

The ending sucked but they continue to push forward gaining a point...I believe that’s points now in their last 5 games. That’s all I can ask for in the remaining games left.
- Sublime55

that is tough tho when all other teams are getting 2 and your running out of games to play.

The Bobrovsky mistake could possibly be the worst the franchise has ever made. And there are plenty in here who believed he was the guy. He was criminally mishandled during the playoffs in his rookie season, and all that happened after because of it really hurt this organization.

It's a big a mistake as a team could make.
Literally think of the talent on this team with Bob.
Ship has sailed though and not much we can do.

He certainly was a huge fan favorite. I really like him, was very surprised they went and got Bryz...

The Bryz signing was the biggest panic move in sports history. The owner over reacted to a bad coaching decision and the dominoes fell.

I've mentioned this before but in his rookie year, a Montreal based goalie magazine that I used to subscribe to featured him in a detailed analysis. The goalie coaches basically break down goalies in photos frame by frame to analyze a tenders technique. They concluded that bob had a great mix of athleticism and solid technique that meant over the long haul he'd be a star. Said that he should solve the goalie problem for philly for a while. And we trade him.

On a different note, what is the rationale behind this Kingery deal? Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Kingery doesn't have any MLB experience time. So his service time is 0. They signed him for 6 years. Doesn't that just take him to his first arbitration year? Why not just have him under control on the cheap until then?

Seems strange. I'm not complaining about it I just haven't ever seen something like this. Shocking, almost. Seem to be doing him a favor.

Pulled. Coach wanted a veteran presence on the ice and the chemistry was a tad off
