I see plenty urgency from the Pens. They back check like all hell. Double-teaming and overloading Flyers along the boards. Tons of support for each other.

the first period was all flyers doing that stuff and the pens werent. a lot of perimeter stuff, but the flyers are still gonna end up around fifty shots on goal. thats egregious. neither of these teams can consistently put together sufficient stretches of top level even strength play.

theyll both get in to the playoffs, but its tough to see either beating tampa or boston over seven.

You know it's (frank)ing bad when people are wishing for Elliot to be back. That guy is the definition of avg goaltender at best.

Elliot has a top 10 save percentage in the NHL over the last 8 seasons.

He's the definition of consistent but not spectacular goalie. He makes all the saves he should and has excellent positioning. Every goalie we have used this year with the exception of Elliot finds a way to let in soft goals religiously. I'll take him everyday out of the pack.

However yes, having a premier goalie like a lundquist, price, etc would be really nice. It's long overdue for this franchise

Your elite forwards overshadow how many flaws your team has. I would say this is the worst penguins team vs the last 2 years you won the cup. I would be shocked to see you guys win a cup again but all bets are off in the playoffs.

Most of that was with Hitch as his coach. That guy has made Lehtonen look good. Kari Letonein. Anyways they're going nowhere with him or any if these guys. Pity Stolarz got hurt. Can't wait to see Hart make the big jump. Crossing fingers he's the star he's been so far with the big boys.

I mean I didn't expect to win a cup with Elliot but he does make us the best team currently. Which should be a bottom seeded playoff team. I hope the same thing that stoly, lyon, hart, sandstrom, ustimenko, tomek somebody becomes a legit NHL 1 that plays his rookie season a flyer and retires a flyer.
