Anyone read the Flames blog? Are they legit looking to trade for a 1st rd pick?
If so, Lou should be all over that.. Dougie Hamilton for a 1st rd pick and Matt Martin |

What's the Leafs' magic number to officially clinch a playoff spot? - zazzle
Wedgie's Magic Number Watch
(Please note: all figures quoted are for Leafs to be free and clear, without having to go to tie-breaker system)
Leafs currently on pace for 105 points - which would be a franchise record. 64% winning record.
Florida currently on pace for 92 points. 56% winning record.
New Jersey currently on pace for 92 points. 56% winning record.
To lock up 3rd:
Magic number is 7.
If the Panthers win their remaining 10 games, the Leafs need a 3-4-1 record or better to lock down 3rd place.
To make the playoffs:
Magic number is 6.
If New Jersey wins their final 9 games, the Leafs need a 3-5-0 record or better to ensure we make the playoffs. |

It's all good, Parmie.
We are all Leafs fans - so we punch each other in the 'nads, because it reminds us of our shared history.
And I agree - this team just feels different from any team of the past 20 years (although 1993 was a crazy kinda feeling). |

Agreed, this team makes you think that they could win any game against any opponent on any given night... Unless, you're UG..
1993, that team played above their potential.. |

Most people on here just like to joke around a lot, but it's all in good fun.
Except for the odd Debbie Downer, everyone in here is pretty excited about where this team is at right now. We're seeing the start of something special with this Leafs team.

Don't get too comfortable.....there are still some guys in here that will hang you up on your locker by your underpants without batting an eye.
But you are right....this Leafs team is legit. Easily the best we have seen since '93.
What I find strange is that there are some Leafs fans who almost seem to be in denial that the team is good, and despite wanting to root for them, then look for every negative thing they can find to expect gloom and doom. Take last night's game for example.....I had friends say "I will believe it when they show me in the playoffs. Their D sucks and will cost them in the first round." When we lose.....we suck. When we win....the other team did not play well, and we will choke in the playoffs. And this from guys who are Leafs fans. You can just see that they have had their hearts broken so often that they just cannot bring themselves to show any optimism. Drives me nuts. |

It's PTSD. People have had their hopes dashed so many times in the past by the Leafs that they are afraid to be positive, lest they be let down again.
Although there are also a few wanna be Nostradamus's out there that discovered by always predicting the worst outcome they could imagine, they usually ended up correct in the past, so they still do it now, expecting to once again look smarter than the rest of us. I think you can guess who a few of these people might be. |

It's had to be washed so many times it's lost its original color... At least, I hope HOHO washes it. |
