My big problem with singling out players is it ignores the bigger problem.

Did Letang eff up in OT? Yup, but IMO that game should have never reached OT.

The Pens failed to play a consistent game, pulled their foot off the gas after going up 2-0 and allowed the Devils to come back in the game.

The biggest problem since the deadline has been the Pens not committing to what brought them success this year, not one or two players having issues.

When the Pens bring their relentless attack and team puck support that’s when they win. They did it then stopped late in the first.

With the next handful of games all being in close proximity to each other plus the fact a playoff spot not gaurenteed, watch for the Pens to get more in sync and cohesive all while also playing with more desperation.

Will say though, I'm not feeling those D pair changes this late in the season. Oleksiak not finding a good partner to match with since Cole left is to blame for this.

Oleksiak and Schultz have been a really solid D pairing this season.

I’d really like the 4th line to get more time. I think Sully is failing to take advantage of having someone like Sheahan at 4C.

He's actually taking advantage of it in an interesting way when we go down by moving him up to 3C and shortening the bench by putting Brassard on Sid's left and benching the three worst forwards when we fall behind. I think in theory this is a really good idea, although it hasn't paid off yet.

Didn’t he only do that for one shift last game?

That's true but I'm referring to Letang - Oleksiak being a thing... If it's a thing. To my eyes they are the two biggest gaffeers on the blue line... Foresee lots hot fresh turnovers for the other team with them as a pair. I could be totally wrong though too of course. Hope so.
