Not adding up to me.. the Superbowl had a 66 year old paraplegic woman working as a security guard and was a part of a security team to deny people field access and bennet pushed through them which apparently was enough for him to be charged with felony intent to injury - which is normally reserved for things like trying to shoot someone but missing - jerry Jones? Racism? Pay back for his Vegas incident ? It doesn't add up based on the current story. - Tfaehner

They are now saying the only witness - no video somehow at the Superbowl - is a cop that testimony wasn't taken until over 7 months after the incident. |

Here are some actual quotes from a single page of a thread in June. Turns out at least one GM wanted to build his team around Couturier as a first line center, and it was the GM of the team he was already on.

I still want to know if you predicted that Couturier would put up a 30 goal, 70 point season. - MJL
I didn't and I never claimed I did, so I fail to see what point you are trying to make.
In contrast, you claimed no GM in the league would use him as a first line center and that any team in the league could sign Tavares to an 8 year contract. In both cases you were proved wrong, but for some reason you can only admit to one of them. |

The point that you didn't know or predict that he was going to put up a 70 point season
Now can you show me any analyst in the NHL that predicted or thought that Couturier would put up a 70 point season?

Incorrect. I stated twice that I stand behind my statement that I made on Couturier and how I viewed him as a player. Also incorrect in saying that no GM would use him as a first line center. The Taveras conversation has nothing to do with this.
When are you going to admit to being wrong about Sanheim and his game earlier this season before being sent down and how your statement that the only thing that changed was his PDO was wrong?

A few days ago, I finally just quit reading anything he posts. Try it, you’ll be glad you did. Life is just too short to waste your time reading the pedantic blatherings of a know it all jackass.
He’ll probably write some kind of arrogant passive/aggressive response to this. I hope someone enjoys it. |

You think I'm supposed to admit I'm wrong on Sanheim because Bill has a different opinion than me? So every time Bill has a different opinion than you do, that means you are wrong and immediately write out a post to that effect? Please provide a quote of the last time that happened.
You said no GM would build a team around Couturier as a first line center. You were incorrect because that's exactly what Hextall did, just as you were incorrect about it being an "indisputable fact" that other teams could sign JT for 8 years. Your pattern of being proved wrong is all relevant to the discussion. Predictions I didn't make are entirely irrelevant. I didn't predict Konency would score 20 goals. That doesn't mean that someone who claimed that he couldn't be a top 6 winger this year was right. |

No, I think you're supposed to admit you're wrong because you are. Bill just eloquently stated what you missed. Why didn't you respond to him and how you disagreed? Ordinarily I wouldn't care but since that's what you're into now, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

You have zero evidence that Hextall views Couturier as the franchise player and cornerstone of the team. That title belongs to Giroux so you're wrong.
I admitted I was wrong about the Taveras situation.
That you or anybody else didn't expect Couturier to post a 70 point season is entirely relevant. |

Bill speaks the truth... lol
I think he described Manning to T, he saw manning like most of us did last night and prior
Great points on Hak, I get talking about manning has no value but players do read the articles. I dont think Hak will
Lose the room but you can’t have to many double standards. To be fair we weren’t at the press conference.
Unfortunately, the chemistry displayed by Manning and Gudas together in recent weeks has been rather consistent, and not in a good way. They seem to end up on each other's side of the ice an awful lot or too tightly bunched behind the net (often without forward support at net front). Manning has failed to clear pucks time and time again, and was also making too aggressive up-ice plays reminiscent of his early AHL days as an offensive-minded defenseman. Add to that a tendency to fall down in puck battles, and there have been way too many rough shifts for Number 23. - wcorvette
If we’re gonna call guys out , why not call out Ghost as well he has been terrible lately not just his -6 in the last 6 games but the breakdowns he’s been on for as well, easily as many as Gudas and Manning, Provy hasn’t been much better lately . As for the the posters that blamed Manning on the first goal last night he did his job it was as much on Konecny, puck chipped by him, Giroux didn’t get it deep, Gudas ,and Lyon should of had an easy shot if he wasn’t flopping around. Don’t have a problem with Bill not liking Manning either but call out the others when there struggling. Manning is what he is an undrafted filler. Guys like Provy should be way better and not turning the puck over all the time. |

Posters in here last night have talked about provy and other main players struggles. The thing is you know they'll rebound and they have never been down for long stretches. Manning gudas have been bad for the entire stretch of this season. That's not a couple game funk. |

To me Provorov has not looked very good with ghost. Provorov is not playing to the level he was at in the 2nd half of last year. |

Does anyone know what Vandevelde's contract status is over in the Finnish league? Are the Flyers allowed to extend a late season offer to him?
If so I'd definitely be interested. Especially after reading a couple of the posts a few pages back. My take on VdV has completely changed.
Can we do a salary swap between him and Weise? I thought I read that was negotiated in the latest CBA. One per team. |

I disagree, Hakstol did not overplay Vandevelde last season. I wish we had a player like Vandevelde this season to play ahead of Weise and Leier. He was a better player then they are now. Every year there is an influx of new players and a turnover. - MJL
