I'm having trouble finding how O'Reilly is under rated.

He's paid as a top 20 NHL forward. He was traded for a boatload, and gets the ice time of a franchise center.

How is he under rated?

If they did an upper management poll and ROR was ranked top 5 underrated that would be something I’d be interested in as those are people actually responsible for player evaluation and roster construction

because there are a lot of other things in play that stats can't document or chart...this isn't baseball where there's a one-on-one matchup between pitcher and hitter with definable characteristics over a very large sample size...it's a team game with a lot going on at any given second

such as? look if he was making half what he is and playing half the minutes he's getting id understand. Youd take the subtleties of the game over his poor numbers because in that role, it's more about those little plays than the production.

But he's not. He's making 7.5 mil on the cap and getting a poop ton of ice time. He may do all the little things well, but you can't make 7.5 mil based on doing the little things.
