Do you have a link that quotes the GM's or is it former gm like Button?
He is a 21 year old playing on 1 of the best teams in the league. If he is playing 3rd pairing minutes, while still improving, I would call that developing quite well.
I have watched about 10 Bruins games this season and see him as a fine defenseman. Would love to have him.

Brandon Carlo‘s name has come up on trade talk. Carlo’s future value varies depending on who you talk too – top-four guy to a bottom pairing.

A pencil would be a better instrument with which to sketch out Carlo’s future. The same level of agreement does not extend to Carlo. An informal poll of three player personnel executives around the league produced three different projections: bottom-pairing defensive defenseman, No. 4 or 5, and top-four shutdown presence.

All his peripherals show he's a passenger who is regularly propped up by his partners and teammates. He's essentially in over his head any time he leaves a bottom pairing role.

No doubt, I don't really get excited about most "B" grade type of prospects until they show something in the AHL. Even then, you could end up with a Clendening or Vey who get fans excited by producing in the AHL at a young age but doesn't have the right tools to become an effective NHL'er.
- Nucker101

B prospects aren't worth half the verbiage they get. The average B prospect is a player like 20% of the time tops.

Its nice that the team has like a (frank)ing bucket of them so probably 2 pan out, but all the breathe that is getting wasted over them would be better spent on cigarettes.

A young solid defensive defenseman, what a bum.
Guys like Vlasic Tanev Hamonic shouldnt be getting the icetime they get because they are defense first types of players.
😀🤣😂

What are you even trying to argue anymore? You aren't even arguing the points that are being made about the player.

I'm sorry I don't want to draft a 3rd pairing defensemen high in the 2nd round.

As long as no one fights.

I want a little more hitting and physical play. that might mean a few more fights, so be it.

and then again if they could consistently play with the tempo they had at the start of the year, that could be just as entertaining.

I cut it off at 6' and under
Barzal, Gourde, Keller, Debrincat, DeBrusk, Kerfoot, Bratt, Hudson, Vrana, Iaffalo

Over 6'
Boeser, Haschier, Connor, Heinen, PLD Kempe, Fischer, Tuch, Patrick, Frk

Top 20 scoring rookie forwards from this season. It's 10/10

- manvanfan

You tend to use points as your main argument. How about impact players like Sergachev and MacAvoy etc.
Also, I dont consider 6' too be considered small.

What are you arguing about. This discussion started about Bahl and went from there. I dont think i ever mentioned Bahl being picked with our high 2nd.
Sometimes you need too get off your high-horse.

Fixed. I disagree. The forward group is set so I’d draft all D after Zadina, no room for more forwards.

Zadina’s stock has risen for me also.
As for all D hard to say about that but a few for sure. Curious to see how JB unearths more talent next draft.

Pittsburgh model

I’ve been saying for months that we take Zadina and load up on D the rest of the way

We need scoring on D mostly. From there i think pairings can be patched together more easily. Great 1st pass & a point threat is still our big need.

A good way to go if Demko can stand on his head & 2 D can log tons of TOI in any PO run. Have to have speed galore up front along with lots of balanced scoring.

Discussion started with Bahl and his skating. You gave me an article that stated his skating wasn't very good.

You then compared him to 3 defenders. One drafted in the 3rd round, another guy drafted in the 3rd round and Carlo high in the 2nd round.

Then you argued that you think Carlo is a young shutdown defensemen. I didn't argue that point.

I argued that I don't want to draft a 3rd pairing shutdown defensemen high in the 2nd round. I said I was fine with drafting Bahl. Just not in the 2nd round.

You asked fort a quote about Carlo and I gave you an entire article written in the Boston Globe. You then turned that into calling Carlo a "bum" and named a bunch of defensive defence man.

Anders Nilsson's performance in St. Louis served as a good jumping-off point to look more closely at the Canucks' goaltending.

Markstrom comes off pretty well in this analysis, and not just by comparison!
