Hey, you ever go to another teams blog and they're talking about firing a good GM when their team had a disappointing season. You think to yourself, "what a bunch of idiots" right?!

Or they're talking about firing a second year coach because they missed the playoffs one year after they made them. Your thinking, "these guys are a bunch of (frank)ing ding-a-lings"

There's a lot of posters on this blog that need to take a good look in the mirror because you have become one of those drooling idiots.

It's like GMBT has to be perfect every trade and every signing to be considered good enough to keep his job.

Anybody with 2 brain cells to rub together knows that changing coaches like underwear does not make any kind of stable foundation on which to build a team culture with stable systems.

If you think firing BT or GG is going to magically solve the problems then your a drooling idiot. We're here to play the long game, not the short and immediate one.

Spoken like a true arm chair sports fan. Im not here to sling mud but your "anybody who thinks...is a drooling idiot" is just pathetic.
Doug Pederson took a team with average talent in year 2 and turned them in to a super bowl winner with a back up QB...why?! Because he is a damn good coach. He hired a def coordinator that suited his teams talents. You cant see this team has been gutless, completely relying on talent night in and night out for 2 years?!? The compete level of the Calgary Flames under Glughead is absolutely disgusting! Look at our power play? Glughead hired a power play specialist assistant coach that has never ranked higher then 21st?!?! Keep in mind Glughead was not our first choice for a head coach, we got caught waiting that year and we had slim to none to choose from. Ill stand firm behind the Flames desperately need a coaching change. Tree has won more than lost imo and im fine with him making an error on the coach and getting another opportunity to make it right. Our team is not without talent.

The last two seasons, ive seen the Flames blown out more then i have in decades of watching them...blown out! Hey buddy, we just beat the oilers ...barely....first time in 2 years... Ferland has regressed, Bennett has regressed...Troy Brouwer gets PP time and 1st line time!! GTFOH with that we dont need a new coach poop. GTFOH, THe Flames over then last two years look like a ringette team. Im tired of watching these guys get poop kicked soon as the game gets physical....hey buddy that likes to think he knows everything and throw insults on line like a cool guy....the Ducks (frank)ing buried us in the playoffs last year ...we couldnt handle the physical game...you cool with the Flames being the Canucks of then early 2000's? Winning presidents trophies with the sedins only to get destroyed come playoff hockey time. Mark my words, the people that know hockey will see the err in giving GG the helm and he will be gone by next season.

Glughead I like that! Where were you when I was bashing the coach 3 months ago? Took some heat from some of the knob gobblers on here that thought he was a good coach for this team! Not blaming him totally, players have a lot to do with where this team sits, they definitely need a new voice in the dressing room.
Trelivings going to cover his ass for not lottery protecting that 1st round pick. Management felt they were ready to compete, weather that's right or wrong doesn't matter. Glughead will take the fall for this.
On the Winnipeg model, big difference between the prospect pools, plus Laine haas a lot to do with that!

Still waiting for either of you two dweebs to mention one suitable candidate......

And you both fail to mention how we already had the "hard ass" stanley cup champion coach with this team.....

I'll keep waiting!

No way man! We want the old HARD ASS coach back!!!!!!

I can't believe how many people on here think this roster is so god-like that a monkey could have guided this team to the playoffs. But we didn't have a monkey, we have GG, who is so dumb that he took this sure-fire cup contender and steered them right into the side of a mountain.

This roster isn't that good folks...period!

This o.g (geek or goof?) is a moron bud, i wouldnt worry too much about him. I never once said anything about a hard ass coach but this kid just reads what he wants lol. Another armchair sports kid who couldnt make a team so he has no clue how powerful a good coach can be. cough cough Doug Pederson, the riverboat gambler!!

Having a guy shoot 24% when his career average is 6-8% and have a goalie put up a carrer best .930 and your waiver wire back up pick up to put up a league average .914 sure helps a lot

Gallant is pushing the right buttons to get a lot of these guys, but what they doing isnt some coaching voodoo.

They are getting unreal perfromances out of some guys who might never be able to match those again in their careers bc right now they seem like anomalies.

I think hes a fine coach but any coach can look amazing if you have a .930 lights out goalie...thats the old saying Show me a good goaltender and I'll show you a good coach.

Thats how patrick roy looked like a coach and won the jack adams...Varly put up a career best .927 on 63 starts

He took a roster of castaways and turned them into a 1st place team. Not a god, but impressive to say the least.

A hall of fame goalie having a career year isnt really a cast away. I agree with this statement somewhat but Vegas isnt full of AHL call ups that Gallant has made into stars

Fleury didnt even play a good chunk of the year and they hardly missed a beat. In fact they were playing 3rd and 4th string goalies for a few games. Gallant has made good player decisions on who to play where and what role they need to take on the team. Everyone bought in and that's why they are having a killer year

he has started 41 games, but they got a league average .914 from Subban who came from the waiver wire, .946 from Oscar Dansk....Legace was trash for them at .867 where 8 of their their 21 loses came from.

I just think they have been very very lucky getting consistent to top end to just silly goaltending throughout this season. Having their 3rd highest team PDO this season kind of the math to prove that

Sure luck probably plays a role too. We'll have to see how they play in the post season and if they regress next year. But my point is that Gallant did something to bring them together as a team. It's not like they all knew each other or played together prior to this year. That's an advantage all other teams had over them and Gallant made it work. He deserves a ton of credit IMO.

He does deserve credit for keeping this things rolling but they have been very lucky. Would vegas be in the same spot if they got a 6 goal shooting 7% WIlliman Karlsson or a 40 goal scorer shooting 23% which is a huge jump in career avgs.

They would still be in a good spot but not one of the top teams in the points good if they werent getting career years out of some of these guys. Is that coaching or is that luck? Can never really tell until we see the follow up season next year
