Not a fan of Hagg sitting at all and I didnt see anything in the RedWings game that said he should sit vs someone else.

Hell does Coots sit for that horrible turnover at the end of the period?
What about Jake for any turnovers?

I'd go Elliott, Mrazek, and then Neuvirth. Would make sense to send down Lyon.
- MJL

Makes sense. Lyon would benefit from the AHL playoffs. Neuvirth becomes the 3rd guy. I do not however, have much faith in him staying healthy.

I'm actually surprised he is back before Elliott. I thought it was going to be the other way around.

Well, you figure Neuvirth breaks every bone in his body getting on the bus, so you roll with Elliott and Mrazek. Personally, I'd rather stick with Lyon over Mrazek or Neuvirth, but you let him be the LHV starter.
- jmatchett383

I think the Flyers players, and most fans, have more faith in Elliot and Lyon in net? Neuvirth can't stay healthy and Mrazek gives up too many soft goals at the worst possible times, just like Mason always did.

So, can the Flyers come out at the start of the game playing like this is a meaningful contest?
- Doc_Sarcasm

I was kinda nervous about the Detroit game because it felt like a weird, road trap game wedged between 2 divisional games.

I'd be surprised if they came out flat against this particular Rangers team.

That may be true but with a first ballot hall of fame goaltender if you get in you have a chance. That’s why the flyers won’t win a cup until they get an elite goaltender and maybe not even then. If I were a flyer fan I’d hope carter hart is the real deal.whats really hilarious though is some of you on here said hank wouldn’t be a third stringer with the flyers now THATS hilarious
- Bobd62

Please show me what Flyers fan here , not on dumb radio stations, said Hank wouldnt be a third stringer with the Flyers. If someone really said that they don't deserve to be a hockey fan.

All that being said..For as good as Hank has been and their were times when he was the best in the world the Flyers and Rangers have the exact same number of cup wins over the past 10 years and I would much rather be where the Flyers are right now with their top prospect pool vs where the Rangers are.

Hey Bill, what do you think of Lyon? Do you think he can be a good NHL goalie? He started out so poorly, but I really respect the way he handled it and his play of late has been really good.

Mason was one of the best goalies stat wise we have had in the last 20 years. Mrazek is not even close. He's been mediocre

I read this board every day and don't remember ever seeing that, so I'll assume you made it up. Also, having an elite goaltender for the past 13 seasons has worked wonders for the Rangers. Went to the Stanley Cup finals once in Lundqvist's career and lost. The Flyers did that with Michael Leighton.

I would agree; he'd be the starter, backup at worst.

Mason has replaced Coburn as the player that played well for us but is remembered by all the haters as being really bad.

explain how a guy who has averaged .907 PPG in his career and who has carried his team on many occasions is a fraud.

No, he's been below mediocre, and other than his first three games he's been pretty darn bad.

He was decent in Washington, the Flyers went into total cruise control on the 3rd goal.

But I agree, overall, he's been pretty bad.

All that may be true but I still thank God we did not re-sign Mason! Stats don't tell the whole story. Something was off with that fellow and we are better off without him.

He's been a twat.

Seems a little too moody for my liking as well. (frank) him. Team Lyon.

Coburn was awesome for us during our run. He was also one of the best guys off the ice and in the community during the time he was there. I hate that people only talk about his injuries and the shell he was when we traded him.

Mason played well for almost the entire time he was here even though he had the occasional soft goal. However he was not good off the ice. And that's why he was let go.

Well I’m not reading all the past flyer blogs.......someone said it here believe me or not idk but this is the second time since the lockout that the rangers are going to miss the playoffs the other time when the flyers knocked us out in 2009 in a shootout. I’ll take that over anything the flyers have done in the same time frame. Winning the cup is the ultimate goal but I’ll take playoff hockey every year win or lose instead of talking about prospects every year that’s why as long as hank is playing the rangers have to try and get him another shot. So that’s why the rangers will hopefully have a good offseason and be back in the playoffs next year.

A lot of injuries in Mason's time with Winnipeg. Don't know if I see him being a full time starter again in the league.

I was being nice. Him and the d aren't on the same page either. Him playing the puck despite his prowess there is a nightmare cause the d doesn't know what to expect from him
