LOL, you ain't who I had in mind with that!
I just like how he tries to lead this team in his own way. You can't ask him to be Clarke or Richards or Pronger. He's gotta be himself. His way is more positive and he shouted out Alex Lyon in his post game remarks. Regardless of whether he actually thinks Alex Lyon is an NHL caliber goalie, he pumped Lyon's tires in a post game interview. Sometimes, when you set a standard for people, they rise to meet it. That's what G is doing there, IMO. - johndewar
It's hard to believe he's approaching his career high in points in a season. What a comeback season for him and Jake. They need to make the playoffs now, otherwise they waste a career years by both of them. |

I have said it before and I will say it again: Philadelphia is the only sports town I have ever seen where they can't wait to boo one of their own homegrown players and run them out of town
Giroux is, what, one of the top 10 players in Flyers history, maybe gets as high as 6 or 7, off the top of my head and depending how some view guys like John LeClair and Tim Kerr
But hey. Why not strip him of the C and BOOOOOOOOOO |

The position change obviously had a very positive effect. And good on Giroux for not just embracing it, but simply killing it in that role. That's what leaders do.
I think it's funny when he's out there with Couturier and Coots gets kicked off the dot and here comes Giroux, who is almost 60% on faceoffs. It ain't like you're getting off easy there. |

The move to wing was brilliant. He doesn't have as much responsibility and doesn't get beaten down as much physically. Coach gets props on that one.

Top pairing of Ghost and Provy didn’t look good tonight, Provy still with too many turnovers. Murph must not of been happy with Ghost either as ice time was down to 17 plus minutes. Ghost is-6 in the last 6 games hopefully he can turn it around. Thought Gudas played better tonight and Sanheim was solid again.Thought Manning was solid as well, Hagg might be better defensively in his own end but seems like Hagg never makes a play other than a rim or high off the glass even Gudas seems to make more plays. In saying that we will need all hands on board in the playoffs. Lyon settled down after the bad first goal, will be interesting if Neuvy gets in. |

It's crazy sometimes. It has gotten a little better since they basically booed Pat Burrell out of town, but man. One down season from Giroux and it will be right back to where we were last year
Corey Perry isn't the player he was. He doesn't get booed in Anaheim.
Patrick Marleau never won a Cup in San Jose. Never got booed there.
The Sedins don't get booed in Vancouver. Nobody says to strip the C from Henrik.

Even if they secure 1st wildcard, I'm good getting the Caps. Really liking the top 6 forwards, Lindblom is such a good player on both ends. Get on the Patrick now because within the next year he 'll be the first center and that is no disrespect to Coots |

Pat Burrell wast booed out of town. If anything, the fans gave him an extraordinarily long leash due to his ownership of his play and acceptance of the city. He was the complete opposite of Scott Rolen and the fans laidoff him. He wasnt known as the mayor for nothing. |

i cant comment on other cities too much. i just think by and large a lot of people are dumb, wherever you are. but the 20 to 40 age bracket of average guys at the bar/xfinity at any given time. good grief. a lot of knuckleheads.

100% Correct about Burrell. That felt like fans were overcorrecting for the poopty treatment that Mike Schmidt got, even though data I have received in adulthood is that Mike Schmidt is a garbage human.
Also, this thing about Pat Burrell always makes me laugh, because he probably single handedly banged his way through every bar district in the area:

Another problem with Rolen was he kinda indirectly poop on Philadelphia when he went to St. Louis, whether he meant to or not.
I think he has even admitted as much since those days, that maybe he didn't handle his exit from Philly well. |

I was around 13 and one day a group of us snuck into the vet. There wasnt anybody i the stadium. We were running up and down the ramps and concourses. A few of the players came out to field grounders. We all sat and watched and went down after they finished. It was Schmidt, Phil Bradley and 5 kids in the entire Vet.We asked him for an autograph, he said come back for the game. I said i dont have any money for a ticket. He said, "i wouldnt want to be you" and walked away. Bradley came over and apologized and signed our hats.
If Schmidt was on fire, i wouldnt piss on him to put it out |

A friend that I trust told me a story about Schmidt (frank)ing about on a putting green at some golf course before some dumbass celebrity tourney and Schmidt turned away kids for an autograph.
Kids.
Schmidt was my favorite Phillie to watch growing up, but hearing these stories makes me think he's a bad human if you are that guarded about your signature.
Also, kudos for running around the vet. I sold programs there for Eagles games. I loved the Vet. |

There was no place for Read in the lineup almost all season, but suddenly he's so valuable he needs to be on the top line. - PhillySportsGuy
Game situations. They have the lead, the Flyers have had trouble with the Fast line all night. Konecny had some puck management issues. So move Read up to play with Couturier to check, keep the lead and win the game. Instead of looking at it logically, instead you choose to criticize the team.
