I think next year is about him playing 70+ games more than getting 10 goals. If he can't stay healthy he is worthless.

JV is progressing. I'm starting to see signs. I'm bitter he was developed SO badly by this team, he actually is an NHLer and deserves about as much ice as he gets right now. LE is riding on his own coattails, if you look at his defensive metrics he's taken a significant step down the last two years. There's no saving grace for him outside of a massive bounce-back season next year followed by a trade, which at this point seems beyond unlikely.

He is the type that didn't quit . Gave it every shift.

I heard Julie R say Will Lockwood is the same type of tenacious player but he is learning now to tone it down a tad .

That is because you are not smart enough to realize there is a difference between a kid drafted one year and playing in the NHL the next year , and a kid drafted spending three more years in College hockey

It's not about the cycle game. The strategy can always change. Preparation and being a pro is a big deal. Some guys get it BO (who credits alot of this to the twins) some don't such as JV and Hutton who are taking the long route.

to be clear, I do think you have to take it on a player by player basis. Most importantly, whe nthey start to waver, send them down. Bo never wavered, boeser didn't waver. The other three certainly did Hutton was promoted when he started playing bad. An odd reward. JV was getting more ice than he knew what to do with. Stecher is a similar case. I think you have to err on the side of caution. Putting young guys in too early CAN be a huge mistake. Exceptional players may change that. Including our top5 pick this year but they should have to earn it and keep earning it or get sent down. Gaudette is 21 6'1 185 and playing very well. He looks poised to make the team, if I had to bet on one guy it would be him.

If Gaunce can get to 8-12 goals a year he would be ideal. Having proper line mates is a big deal. If Gaunce is playing with Motte and Dowd then we will be hooped and so will he.

Same with Sutter he gets the difficult minutes and yet he is one of the few players that still GAF .

When Sutter played with Dorsett they were a very effective line. Unfortunate for Sutter he gets thrown into second line expectations because the other center can only score 2 goals .
