Gaunce is a problem...but every player other than Boeser and Horvat are a problem.

How is Gaunce a problem for the Vancouver Canucks?

It is comforting to know if we want to see NHL hockey it is only two hours away
- VANTEL

Fun almost fact. If the new high speed rail between Vancouver/Seattle/Portland goes ahead, you can get to a Seattle game in 45 minutes

I'll say one thing, swap Gaunce and Henrik's zone starts and Gaunce would score at least 4

or more.

I think Gaunce has yet to define his role in Vancouver.

Is he a part timer? Is he another Menga and Chaput? He is not a goal scorer. He doesn't seem to have a specific talent that says give in pp or pk time or other situational play.

Everyone in management and media seems to be high on him but for the life of me, I have yet to see it.

Because I think he is a fringe NHL player. Whether or not he is on the roster is irrelevant at this point. The whole team sucks.

He's one of the few guys who is not a liability. Gangner, Dowd, Loui, boucher, Goldobin, motte, Hutton, guddy, Stecher, MDZ and JV are way bigger liabilities away from the puck.

Makes sense, he's been a pro for 17 years with an 18th on the horizon.

Ya, 'cause Evander Kane will fix everything.

Kane and Perron would both be top6 improvements.

I don't think JV and Loui are liabilities away from the puck.

We need that cap space to sign our 38 year olds to another year with a NMC

By playing a defensive/shut down roll who doesn't get scored against by better players makes him a fringe NHL player? OK.

JV is progressing. I'm starting to see signs. I'm bitter he was developed SO badly by this team, he actually is an NHLer and deserves about as much ice as he gets right now. LE is riding on his own coattails, if you look at his defensive metrics he's taken a significant step down the last two years. There's no saving grace for him outside of a massive bounce-back season next year followed by a trade, which at this point seems beyond unlikely.

They will be 2 year deals. The team is too much of a mess.

We are currently a mess and we will be next year and the year after. It makes no sense to bring back two untradable players to a team that needs draft picks . They are not insulating anyone . Most times they need babysitting

I mean, Green has already had their icetime reduced and them to o-zone specialists. IMO not the problem, I wouldn't hate moving on. I do think one more year with Pettersson and Dahlen around for camp and some NHL games makes sense to help them transition. They both move in to one of the twins places, learn about preparation. Say what you want about the sedins but they never took a night off and are still in the best shape of anyone on the team at 38 years old.

I used to get the Centre Ice package quite a bit for just that reason...but the gouging by the cable companies just pisses me off. When SN signed that big TV deal they promised more games to be broadcast 'outside' of the Centre Ice bubble. Really, there was no need for it. And TSN another f'n joke. They have 5 f'n channels and would have been in a PRIME opportunity to stick it to SN and Centre Ice by broadcasting all this Sens, Jets and Leafs/Habs games they are still under contract for but no...they go straight to Centre f'n Ice unfu**ckingreal. But hey we can have Tennis and Curling and Basketball on all 5 TSN channels while the NHL games are 'blacked out'
- LordHumungous

I think TSN only had rights for the local, and SN bought the national rights.

I am not complaining about Gaunce . I said he is in a show me year . I hope he gets 7 goals next year. I hope he succeeds .

If he gets one goal next year he probably won't be re-signed if he scores 7 he will be . See no complaining

I think next year is about him playing 70+ games more than getting 10 goals. If he can't stay healthy he is worthless.

He doesn't score enough imo. I don't really want to debate the 4th line. I don't like him and that's my opinion. Do you think he would be on Nashville's 4th line? He is one of 15 scrubs on the roster. I know Gaunce is super popular in Van so I'll stop bashing him. I'll move onto Hank

To be clear, I hate Loui I was just disputing that he is a liability away from the puck. But yes, he sucks!

I don't think Dahlen makes the team next year. There is no reason for them to even want to return next year. Go sign with another club . Let the Canucks start anew.

We can finish 31 st without them we don't need their help to do that. Don't bring kids in to watch a cycle game let them come in fresh and attack
