He is having a good year but has a long way to becoming a viable NHL prospect. Similar to trading, let's say, Vecchione for a 3rd. Gets back the pick they lost for Mrazek. Plus he goes to Michigan, so he sucks

I haven't watched the kid play but to lead Michigan in points is nothing to brush aside. College hockey has come a long way.

It also seems like every dam deflection winds up in the Flyers net. Although the Flyers have gotten a few deflection goals recently.

Not bad, wouldn’t have any interest in adding veteran D though. Hoping to move Gudas and just replace with Morin.

I wouldn’t mind finding a better veteran center than Filppula for next season, but I really don’t want anyone who would be under contract beyond 19-20. Certainly wouldn’t mind adding a decent winger though, especially if Simmonds is moved at the draft.

Yeah I put the disclaimer that I don't see a need for the defenseman but if the Flyers brass insisted they all fit the bill. I really like Backlund and he's young enough at age 29 that even if he gets 2-3 years it wont kill us. The other free agent centers on the market I don't find as much of upgrades on Filpula or a Vorobyov/Vecchione

It has, but that doesn't mean every good college player has a bright NHL future. I have watched him and he just lacks upper end skills that will make him competitive in the NHL. He was well down the list for Flyers prospects. Better chance of making it in EDM. Win for all (except Chiarelli)

Bill among other analysts have said at best he's a 4th line guy. He's not a guy that's necessary to hang onto. Our third rounders have been pretty good recently.

There doesn't need to be an example. It is possible for a team other than the islanders to sign Taveras to an 8 year contract. That is an indisputable fact.

6th, 158th overall. Bill tweeted that he believes the flyers don't see him as a top 6 player. i hate trading prospects but I have seen him 3-4 times ever including prospect camp so I have NO idea about him
