His last few attempts have been ugly, thankfully they got a point out of that. Florida and Columbus are rolling, the Devils have done well on that west coast trip too. Sharks helped us out last night though. Do the Devils keep going back to Schneider? I did not watch the game last night but box score says he didn't do well, wasn't playing well prior to injury either.

on the bright side, Weal looked pretty good overall last night, if he can get a couple before the end of the season it would really help.

Im disappointed with mrazek. I really thought he was going to do well here.He was playing well before the trade and the motivation of a new contract i thought would make him lights out here. They need elliott back.Hopefully he can get in a game or 2 before the season is over.I do hope they stay right where they are.I like the caps matchup.Holtby has been struggling and the flyers have played well against them.

A. Happy for Matt Read. He's played well IMO since his recall. Glad he got rewarded with a goal.

B. A lot of anger towards Mrasik. While I think he needs that first goal, it was a well placed shot. So was the short-handed goal as well. The 3rd goal, he got a bit scramblely in net. He needed to be pulled though, if only to wake up the team.

C. Lyon has played well lately, whether in relief or through a start. I would come back with him on Thursday.

D. Elliott can't come back soon enough.

E. This team needs to find away to win shootouts. Fact is, if they could have come away with only 2 more wins in them, got a clear in the 30 seconds of the Boston game to earn at least a point, they would be tied for first. Very frustrating. I agree with MJL, why G didn't have an attempt in the SO is beyond me.

dont disagree on Maz, even the 3rd goal he was scrambling but only because the Wings were bouncing the puck between 3 players with zero resistance from the D

but he has to make a big save, sorry that shorty from that angle has to be stopped, that or the 1st Larkin one, different game

What’s the flyers all time shootout record?

The organization has always treated it as a gimmick.

but it seems they also have a lot of soft games? I didnt see many back to back. surprising since they played so few games.

Though their last game is a btob against the Bruins, I hope the B's are still playing for something.

I still say this is a result of a) bad goaltending and b) a long reluctance to going after high offensive skill type players in the draft.

Thankfully Hextall has addressed both of these issues in recent drafts. Patrick, Frost and Hart in time should help the numbers greatly. Just need them all to get here.

But seriously there was a period where they didn't take a high skill forward in the 1st from G/JVR all the way until Konency was taken. That's a recipe for having issues scoring goals, be it in the SO or regulation.

I said last night that the issue with shootouts is more a result of a pitiful shooting % than it is the save % of the goaltenders. How many shootouts have we seen where the Flyers go 0-3? Seems like a ton. I mean Weal and Patrick didn't even force Howard to make a save. That is pathetic.

Yeah, but think about those 84 times when they lost that you were actually happy.

I was surprised goalie interference wasn't challenged after Detroit's 3rd goal. The replays (especially the over head one) shows the Red Wings players' stick spin Mrazk around. That's how he was so out of position and had to scramble. The announcer, albeit Red Wings announcer, didn't even mention it.

Lyon deserves to be the starter until Elliott comes back. Im a mrazek fan but he hasnt played well lately while Lyon has. AHL goalie or not hes given the Flyers a chance to win the last few times hes been in goal

They have playing without Bergeron for a while now. He will be back soon. He's their best player by far. They are going to be a handful in the playoffs.
