The thing with a hybrid is the engine only turns off when you are stopped or going very slow, like less then 5km/hr. I feel like a super economical care like Honda Fit, is a better option. If you lived in Calgary, or Vancouver, and had to deal with downtown trafic, a hybrid would definitely be the way to go.

Honda Fit gets very similar mileage to the civic, and the cost is almost identical to the Civic SE (with our Honda loyalty discount). Hard to fit a stroller in the back of that little mouse car

I think Canucks should take the Russian, even first overall. Then the other foundational Russian in the KHL will come back, and Goldy will play better. We should go from little Sweden to little Russia.

He's a free agent and I heard people suggest the Canucks bring him back. This is why I hate people.

my point is that Hischier/Barzal/Boeser/Debricant/Point/Keller/McAvoy/Werenski/Jones would all prove that wrong. I am just saying, to hastily pencil a promising prospect like Boeser into Utica, would to me, be the same as penciling any of these players as a lock for opening night roster. Let Development camp settle it all.

I think she did some ncaa hockey prospect reports. might have been her last assignment here.

She was quite well liked, and blonde so she had a loyal following of basement posters,

- hillbillydeluxe

Yeah we only follow blonde females because the others are ?????

She does segments on the 650 regularly and surprisingly she actually knows what she is talking about

lol he could barely skate when he was here although has an amazing snapshot.

Playing with Crosby Malkin Letang Kessell etc etc etc I'm sure helped Bonino along...

- LordHumungous

Did Crosby Malkin get traded to Nashville? He is a good third liner if he is on a good team and has good line mates

THE Difference between us is that you put a poop ton of steamed milk in your espresso and I drink mine straight.

Plus, I was being obtuse, drafting a Russian to get the giant Russian to reconsider his choice is rediculous.

lol...do we need to watch Hammer do his best Bieska impression again??

Put whatever name you want but we are looking for a cheap reliable short term bottom pairing guy .

We don't need to be spending 2.8 mil on Pudge Hutton and we don't need Puliot it is not hard to find an upgrade.

They already have a bunch of bottom pairing guys, though some are less cheap then others.

Our bottom pairing guys need to improve their play quite a bit to become NHL bottom pairing guys.

lol no but again he's playing with much better players in both PIT and NSH than he was given to work with here. On his own here with little to no help he was as unimpressive as the rest of our roster outside of Horvat and a few others. But you are correct good team/linemates make all the difference for fringe 3rd line guys like Bonino. As it was for him in ANA as well.

I really don't care who we draft in the first round but I hope they go heavy on D after that . Our D prospects are not very good

They all, with a couple of exceptions, spent extra years in their respective developmental leagues beyond when they were drafted. I personally would not have locked any of these players into an opening night roster. If I were to forecast, as a GM after drafting them, I would predict they need more development time. Sometimes that means 3 more years in the NCAA, sometimes 1 in the WHL, sometimes those numbers plus a year or two in the AHL. You can't cherry pick players and tell me they weren't developed when they were, the only guys to play their draft year on your list is Seth Jones and Hirshier, both of whom were talked about as being the second best player in their drafts. I'm not saying Pettersson or Dahlen shouldn't make the opening night roster, I'm saying they should be on the outside looking in. As in- outside of your expectations of who is in your lineup for next year. I don't really get why that's hard for you, I can similarly cherry pick high end players that have taken longer to develop than the ones you've mentioned. They will compete for roster spots, but likely end up in Utica. Anything else is gravy.

Edler Eriksson and JV are vacationing in the Land of OZ this off season

Edler will be looking to find some courage

Eriksson will be looking to find a heart

Jake will be looking to find a brain

I’m not opposed to drafting Svechnikov if he is the best player available, just making light of the intangible reasons.

If the Canucks finish last, and lose the lottery picking 4th, and the first three are Dahlin, Zadina, Boqvist would you be upset with Svechnikov?
