I hope Price picks up where he left off tonight.

No more 4 days breaks. Maybe we can gather some momentum and start playing like defending champ. The race has been so close for so long that every team with a shot is playing playoff hockey right now. The Pens need to show some intensity.

We need that first line going. I'd love to see Sully switch Phil for Rusty. Honestly, if Brass is truly of 2nd line C caliber he should still be able to play well on a third with Sheary and Rust.

All this talk of being severely outplayed last night....I only saw a few mins of 1st and all of the 2nd period. Pens looked like they had the upper hand alot in that time frame. For me to comment on any of the other time I didnt see would be ignorance but the were they better team in what I saw.

Where did I say severely out played? The first was rough, the last 2mins with the extra attacker was really bad. Other than that it was pretty even. There goalie played well. I thought MM played pretty well. It could have been really bad after the first without him.

The thing that gets me bent out of shape is I know they're capable of destroying the Isles. The effort is still lacking IMO.

It also sucks to wait 4 days to watch your team play and have them lose to 2 teams they should've mopped the floor with.

The problem is they don't look real focused. They'll go through 5 or 10 minutes of disinterested play before waking up. There's a lot of good individual play, but the overall team play is erratic. Definitely the wrong time of the year for that.

I'm a big believer teams need to be playing their best hockey the last 2 or 3 weeks. You can't enter the playoffs having energy lapses like they did last night. I'm hoping it was just having a focus issue after a big break. Good thing they got a game tonight to change the narrative.

Sprong sat out because Donatelli wanted him to watch a few things. It was not punitive. He will be playing the next game.

Yeah I know that, but that’s still an indication that the coaching staff views him as not close. If he was on the cusp of being called up he wouldn’t have been sent to the press box to “see the game from a different angle”. Whether wrong or right, he’s just not gonna get a shot again this season unless major injuries happen.

It may indicate they don’t view him as close, but the fact they are putting so much effort into shaping him is a good sign of how they view his potential. They wouldn’t be focusing so hard on just him if they didn’t highly regard him.

IMO it just becomes a matter of when/if they reach the point they’re trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Remember that this is just his first pro season.
