I was stunned there's no public transit to the arena from the city center. If I wanted to go up for a game, I'd have to rent a car, in a city where I wouldn't otherwise need a car. It's puzzling.

These billboards will do nothing except maybe satisfy a few fans by making them feel like they did something productive.

I just drove across Canada, from Alberta to Nova Scotia, and I drove past the Canadian Tire Centre on the way. I've never spend time in Ottawa myself, but the rink was directly right beside the Trans Canada Highway, and looked to have an absolutely massive parking lot.

Not sure how that is a bad location? I stopped in Montreal to see the Habs vs Pens on Thursday night, and I had to drive through nightmare traffic into the downtown core, where everyone was driving 30 above the limit, meanwhile I'm trying to find out which of the 700 off ramps to take. I finally get downtown and had to pay 25 dollars to park for the game and then sat for an hour after the game waiting to get out of the parking garage.

Maybe downtown locations are great for those who live downtown and can walk to the game, but for the majority of hockey fans who are NOT downtown hipster pinko skinny jean types, the rink is better served in a location easy to access by vehicle and with parking.

There's designated buses that run from certain parts of the city. I'm sure one, or several, pass through downtown.
