no doubt kopitar is better offensively but the defensive gap is bigger than the offensive one - daeth
Kopitar is as good defensively as Bergeron.

I'm not going to argue who Toronto would be be better off facing, but let's stop this Boston is old nonsense. That is simply not true. Our average age is younger than that of the Leafs and we just signed a 21yo.
I understand a few players skew it on the Leafs, but still, we've had 8 rookies score their first goals and are second in the league in goals by rookies. - RickJames77
But can that 21 year old play in the playoffs? |

I'm tempted to agree here.
More often than not, Kopitar is the single best player on the ice in every situation.
He's scary good... |

By having to drag the corpse of Dustin Brown around every year who is a possession sink and a rookie forward while Bergeron plays with arguably the bets defensive winger in the game in Marchand. While both have similar fancy stats. |

I don't watch Kopitar enough...damn time difference. Would you rather have Bergeron on his contract or Kopitar on his? I don't have enough first hand knowledge to say. |

Dustin Brown hasn't had 50+ points in a season since 2011-12.. I think it is safe to say that Kopitar is carrying that line all by himself... |

Depends, I imagine Kopitar would have even better offensive numbers if he played with Marchand and Pastrnak instead of Brown and Iafallo.. |

It's sometimes down to matchups though. Boston is really good at shutting down a top unit. Toronto kinda has 3 of those.
Boston would probably do better vs Tampa than Toronto. - daeth
agree on that. either series would be down to the matchups and coaching.

I think I'd rather Kopitar, but that's mainly cause he's way more durable than Bergeron. Both of them are arguably in the top 5 centers in the league though so no point in being picky!

bergeron is 1st in corsi close in boston since kopitar came into the league (forwards and defense)
kopitar is 6th in corsi close in LA since he came into the league (forwards and defense)
this is among players with a minimum 100 games played over that stretch. results are the same if its set to 200 though.
if this is incorrect you can thank nhl.com for that since that's what i used |

Kopitar = overpaid
I would actually prefer ROR vs Kopitar |

yep, i'd take both of those guys now over prime toews. prime toews was always overrated. good but not the best at what he did. |

Shouldn't Teows technically still be in his "prime" years. Maybe getting in the later stages of prime |
