Hey, I'm not saying Pulock couldn't/wouldn't/hasn't strangled a grizzly bear with his bare hands. I'm only saying that he'd feel bad about it after.

Lee is a huge bargain at a $3.75-million cap hit, though his actual salary will be $5-million next season. Eberle makes $6-million. It's unlikely Eberle would be due a huge raise; Lee most certainly will. Despite having only 333 NHL games to Eberle's 578, Lee is just 2 1/2 months younger than Eberle.

All that's to wonder if the Islanders — whether it's Garth Snow or someone else making the call — would consider shopping Lee around this offseason in their pursuit of top-four defense help. It'd be a bitter pill to swallow, but big wingers have not shown to be good long-term investments of late (see Andrew Ladd, Milan Lucic, T.J. Oshie).

Maybe the Isles won't have to choose. Snow has a good relationship with Neil Sheehy, Lee's agent who just happened to be in town last week (he also reps Leddy). But with all the other moves that need to be made to get this team back on track, some sacrifices will have to be made and a 35-goal scorer, along with a likely lottery pick, could bring back just what the Islanders need to erase the last two seasons.

As a third pair dman playing 19 mins a game on a team that basically have no defensive defenseman and a team that is setting records for goals against he's been more than serviceable. I wouldn't pencil him into a top 4 just yet.

He needs to learn how to get his shot off quicker. Takes him for ever and a day to shot and you just don't have that much time in the NHL.
