Frost finished the regular season 2nd overall with 112 points. 3 behind Luchuk

He's a bust, trade him while he still has some value.

helped set a franchise record in wins too...would be nice

Helped set a franchise record for regular season wins? Sounds like a player the Caps would be all over.

Their scouts must know he is going to make it past the second round of the playoffs

Not bad for an 18 year old....Luchuk is a 20 year old. That's unreal the year that Frost just had. Even Kyrou is 19.

1. Very happy for Lindblom. That 2nd line is starting to click... watch out NHL.

2. TK probably coming back to the 1st line, no? Bring Weal back to the 3rd line.

3. Cooter can't get #30!!! My wife actually watched the last 10 minutes of the game with me and I explained to her the situation. Almost like clockwork he's staring at that empty net and I'm yelling and laughing "HE JUT CAN'T GET 30!". We both had a good laugh but dang, c'mon Cooter. You got this.

Everything else you said makes sense to me.

I could watch Ghost step into shots all day. When he's able to step into one cleanly, it's gonna end up in the net.

QFE..
Love watching the slow motion shots of him shooting. You can see the energy transfer taking place.

Really good list..
Based on this season and not potential I would swap Sanheim and Hagg.

Sanheim numbers
40 GP 7 points -7

Hagg numbers
70 GP 9 points +7 , one of the top hitters in the league this year.

Now if you asked me this based on potential or how I think they play out next year 100% would say Sanheim but right now based off this season I dont see a way to have him before Hagg.

- opeth_pa

Hagg has a better +/- mainly due to playing much more of the season with the dominant first line than Sanheim has.

Manning has not played better overall than MacDonald and Hagg. Not even close.
- MJL

Only behind Ghost, Manning picks the right spot to jump in the rush better than the rest of the D. He usually creates a good scoring chance when he does. He does not do it too often as a 5/6 dman as it is not his job.
Most on here are wearing blinders and are way too eager to bring up a rookie that is not ready and will be playing the wrong role as Ghost and Provy take up the offensive D minutes.

It will be an interesting debate in a few years, better Flyers draft 2003 or 2017.

only one of those drafts has the potential to help bring a cup to Philly

2003 was certainly a great philly draft...for the Kings!!

I would still like to switch the forward lines a bit. I was thinking how we can do it while keeping Couts with someone that will set him up. His best came when he was on a line with Giroux and Voracek. I would like to try this out for a game or 2.

Giroux-Patrick-Simmonds
Konecny-Couturier-Voracek
Lindblom-Filppula-Weal
Raffl-Laughton-Read

Ryan Potulny was a fantastic pick that just never worked out at the NHL level.

Also, Alexander Picard had that 5 assist game that they lost 6-5.

Other than that, 2003 was very "meh" for the Flyers.

Not true. Brian Elliott was taken in 2003, pick 291 overall.

Well, Raffl's out for 2 weeks (i.e. the bulk of the regular season) so I don't think that will work. Also, no way I'm messing with the 2nd line right now. I could see putting Simmonds on the top line, though, if TK is out.

Right now Manning is the team's 7th defenseman. I would agree that Sanheim was not ready earlier in the season but based overall on the four games he just played, he is now, and the player who played yesterday against the Caps is a better player than Manning is. There are plenty of minutes available for a good young 2 way puck moving defenseman.

What legitimate reason is there to break up the Patrick line now? They're surging and with Lindblom finally getting his first, it's time to see what happens with that line moving forward, not break it up.

2003 actually looked like a lot of Flyers drafts from that period. Get a good player at the very top of the draft, but not much else afterwards.

The thing we are seeing now that we did not see previously with Flyers drafts are later round picks making it through the system to the NHL. Ghost was a 3rd rounder. Lindblom a 5th. Hagg a 2nd round pick.

No, that's the one where the Flyers drafted Colin Fraser in the 3rd round and he ended up winning the 2012 Stanley Cup with the Kings.

Konecny and Provorov are thriving, Patrick is really coming on and showing how good of a player he is going to be. Sanhiem looks to be much improved. Certainly the players and their talent and ability deserve most of the credit but I think it's time for some to admit that both Hextall and Hakstol know what they're doing in developing young players.
