We're past 70 games now - it's all just luck.

Saturday was pretty sweet.

Despite the Habs being in the toilet, the Habs fans in the crowd were hoping for the win - and the opportunity to be loud about it.

They showed spirit and moxie in the first period (I'm talking about the fans, not the team).

And then the 2nd period shut them the hell up.

There was a guy in my row wearing a Habs jersey - his wife/girlfriend was in a Leafs jersey. Buddy refused to pick up his drink whenever anybody walked by him - just told everyone not to knock it over.

So of course with 10 minutes left to go in the game, I accidentally kicked it over. I'm pretty pissed, because basic arena etiquette is you hold onto your drink. But whatever - I felt bad - it was a full G&T, so I'm guessing it cost him $2,199.00 at the ACC.

I apologize, offer to buy him a new one. But he's already drunk, and in a pouty mood. He won't even look at me - his girlfriend has to talk to me, tell me not to worry about it, and sorta gives me the silent hand signals that he's already loaded, so he doesn't need another.

I felt really bad about it for about 10 minutes, and then realized he can go frank himself.

That's the thing about Leafs vs. Habs - there are lots of games within the game.

It's one that I thought I'd end up being wrong about but felt vindicated in being somewhat right.

Lucic was slow as poop in Boston but thrived in their system of grind, crash the net, break a nose here, spear someone there, etc etc. He can't keep up with the Oilers speed and if you put him back on Boston today, he'd be equally as poop as he is now.

Dude probably thinks McElhinney is getting tired now, he faced 33 shots on Saturday.

I can't believe they are bringing back Matthews and Andersen for Tuesday. What's the rush?? Let McBackup play in Tampa and in Nashville. Then bring back Freddy and Matthews at home Saturday night for the stretch run. I don't get it at all.

I really didn't like reading that Matthews knew the injury was probably going to linger after he returned. WTF? Let the guy heal up. It is not like the Leafs are moving up or down in the standings. He only needs maybe 3 or 4 games to get back into playing form.

I hope marner and jvr don’t cool off when Matthews gets back. They showed marner up an average of 2 and a half mins a game without Matthews. He looks good with the extra time.
