If the Leafs want to keep JVR and he takes a small haircut they can sign him.

I say move on from JVR, Bozak and Komorov. Sign Tavares, trade Kadri and whamo.

Leafs have no centre prospects that's the issue.

If you get Tavares you can run (theoretically) Matthews-Tavares-Kadri and then do what Pittsburgh does and have the revolving door of youthful wingers on the cheap (theoretically).
