Lucic murdered somebody. Goalies making assinine saves and then poopting the bed at random. McCann almost going between the legs with no time to react. - AdamFrench
That was absolutely insane. I really thought they’d sound the horn to call that a goal and stop the game. From the TV angle I thought for sure he put that in and lost my mind. How the hell did he pull that move off so fast and in so tight? |

If he scored that, it's probably goal of the year. |

What no one saw coming: Curtis McElhinney is 9-4-1 for the Leafs with a .931 save percentage. Previously, he had won 40 of his last 94 starts.
So here's a question to ponder: is it possible that the Leafs' defence is better than we think?
I sincerely doubt the guy simply got better this year.
Yes, the Leafs give up a lot of shots - but how many of them are quality chances?
Any chance the defence is making him look better than he actually is?

And one more thing to ponder:
Last night's game was on St. Patrick's Day.
Would it really have been so hard to throw the Leafs in their St. Patricks uniforms, and put the Habs in a similar vintage jersey?
Talk about a wasted opportunity.
I should never come home from a Leafs game with money still in my wallet. |

McBackup is a good first save goalie. He gives up some huge rebounds, but they're usually so big that they end up in a low percentage area. This is what I've come up with watching him for less then 25 games anyway. |

Combo of the goalies are good, goalie coach is good, and the shots aren't that dangereux. Also the Leafs are on a mission from God.

5 on 5 i think they'd be fine without him. he's huge on the pp though and it'd probably tank their pp if he left.
i still think he's gone simply due to cap management reasons. - daeth
Absolutley
I would like to see Johnsson get consistent PP time to see if he has what it takes to play that role |

Bridge Nylander and Marner and invoke LTIR for Horton. With cap rising, that provides more room. Why give max contracts out of entry level? - parmen
Ltir only works during the season. The team has to be under the cap at the start of the season.
And it's become a trend unforutnately. Bridge deals are disappearing. |

You forget rule #1- Lou does what Lou wants.
Lou put people on the LTIR before this season started. Then after he did it, Daly came out and said that it's been allowed all along.
