Took you a decade of mediocrity to talk big and now look at you acting like the leafs are a (frank)ing dynasty.

At least we will be entering the 7th year of Marc Bergevin’s 5 years plan...oh wait.

Hey, it's been more like fifty years of mediocrity. I want the Habs and Leafs to be good at the same time but one or the other of them manages to (frank) it up. But yes I and other Leaf fans are going to be insufferable for the next ten years. You're welcome.

[quote=burn]That wasn't really fair last night....... But I did hear that the Hans were missing top forward, top 4 dman and their starting goalie.

That second period was one of the most dominant I've seen them play.

With how Marner has stepped up with AM34 out, the kid looks worthy of a first overall pick if he'd been in other draft years. When Matthews comes back these guys can be peaking at just the right time. This first round could be a (frank)ing classic.

It's fun time to be a fan of blue and white.

They certainly could use JVR. No question about that. But its his contract that hes likely seeking, but also, the league is getting younger and faster. Do we really want to commit to a soon to be 29 year old long term?

Id rather use his money to find a good 3rd line C or better yet a solid dman and fill his role with Kapanen.

- systemtool

He's really durable though, and plays a pretty safe game that doesn't require a lot of tempo.

I could see him being a 20 goal guy in his mid 30s with a lot of PP time. Not a lot of net front big guys with soft hands like his in the league, so even into his 30s, I see him at least getting 2nd PP minutes.

I'm getting ragged on because of how much I "gloat" now with my non-Leafs friends.

I can't believe the Leafs have an ace goalie, and also one of the best backups in the league, and one of the best goalies in the AHL. This is not real life.
- Zezel

Gotta give McElhinney credit.

I said he wasnt good enough all year long and I was wrong.

Bridge Nylander and Marner and invoke LTIR for Horton. With cap rising, that provides more room. Why give max contracts out of entry level?

with likely another new expansion team coming soon it's probably safe to assume the cap will keep rising. if they can get them long term now they'll probably save a ton in the future.

that Habs team (organization really) is a brutal awful mess. i remember seeing a list of all the young guys in the Habs line up last night....it was quite a list of ass balls and pubes.
- systemtool

Unpossible. Jim Butthole Hughson was saying last night that the Habs were teaming with young blooming talent. He even went on about it for about 10 minutes. Saying that if not for a few bad breaks they'd be right in the game.

This is why everyone hates Leaf fans, trading Leafs scrap for other teams gold.

No way Vancouver takes that for Gudbranson.

Agree. .he looked solid !..perfect game/team to get some minutes. .hopefully Anderson. .and Matthews is ready..Tuesday. .and johnsson looked great. .he'll be able to slid in full time next year! As kappy has. .and possibly? they'll sign jvr to a front loaded contract. .(9,5,6,5,4.5,4.5,4)?..something like that?and if needed trade later for cap reasons? teams always are looking for scoring..if put with a top center..(getz.. crosby ..johnny T) as examples. . numbers could possibly increas jvr has never played with a number 1 center. .not here anyway..with grunderson and possibly bracco in the next two years coming. .the forward group is looking very solid ..

Habs top forwards better than leafs

I don't see how the leafs repeat last year, they didn't improve as much as Habs in offseason

Habs have a million draft picks playing for them, leafs have none

Habs have great core of under25

How funny is it that the leafs had to turn to Habs (who they said had weak center depth) to solve their own center problems
